Condor Came Today!
.177, CO2. I put a Leapers 3-9X40 scope on high rings on top of a trirail–and it’s barely high enough for my fat head. Sigh.
I put a couple hundred CPHPs down the pipe after it got here. Best I could manage was to hit a 3/4 inch circle pretty much every time, after it was sighted. Not great, but I’m happy for a first time out. That was, of course, off a rest.
Shooting off hand with no support I couldn’t hit squat. But the pull length was way short and to get the “cheek pad” (tank) to the right height I had to have the end of the tank about on top of my shoulder–neither of which leads to great shooting. At least, that’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it!
From a standing bipod I could hit my 1 1/2 inch flip ups with no problem, even with the end of the tank on top of my shoulder.
But I didn’t like it so I made a “temporary” stock until I can get around to making a nice laminated one piece stock. I like the rifle, but I’m not sold on the military look to it.
In the meantime, I think this will work although I haven’t actually shot it with the stock on it, yet. That’s what tomorrow is for.
