BiPod Legs… folded Fore or aft?
Wondering how your bipod legs are set up… when you fold them, do the legs point forwards towards the muzzle or do they point backwards and hug the forearm?
I tried both ways, and I’m liking the “backwards” setup more, it seems to keep the weight a bit more centered for off-hand shooting.
Does it really matter? Probably not, but whuddya think?

I have mine folding forward so that when I pull the
rifle back it lowers the elevation as the legs fold…
And they are out of the way when completely folded….
Either way works…Try’em both and see which you like….

If you need to use the legs to leverage the rifle into a position <OR> want
to use them for rigidity <OR> to stop forward slide (on some surfaces) they
almost have to be fold forward.
The only exceptions I’ve found are as follows:
- – Pods with lock-in legs, or
– Putting a pod on a rifle where forward is not an option.
Again, only one man’s opinion, but after shooting the dirt in front of my rifle
and loosing the pig due to my rear-ward folding pod folding up and the wrong
moment… 😯 I’ll keep’m facing forward on my rifles. 😀
on my condor i have it fold foward so it dont hit my trigger guard
but on my 223 it fold backwards do i have a place to hold the foregripwhile shooting
no real preference
only diff i noticed is when they fold foward and if your bipod legs are planted firmly on ground and you pull back they could flip up on you as opposed to when they fold back i put tension on the legs to steady gun more the cant fold back then
Hmm, never tried it so it would fold backwards. I’ve always had it to fold towards the muzzle, on anything that has a bipod.
I am going to have to try that though.
But I think it looks better folding fowards. 😀

Mine fold forward so the rifle doesn’t bite the dust and smack it’s muzzle into the ground if it gets pushed forward…
