Thats wot i was thinking coz the wood has a real nice grain an its cover normaily by a horible plastic looking paint.
thanks.

If the wood has a grain pattern, dark and light stripes or differnt shades of color in the wood use a wood finish that brings them out.

Depends on how you use that rifle? If you keep it in a case detail and gloss or semi gloss finnish. If its a rack or trunk carry keep it Black!

what do you mean by detail?

Seeing as the rifle is nickel, I’d use a very dark stain or back to black.
