Q:

New Fill Adapter…

My several year old air hog fill adapter’s micro hose started leaking. I bought a CO2 hose (bad.. I know.. but it was $5), but it was too short so when I saw Joe Brancato on the YF classifieds selling Micro Hoses I jumped on one (and ordered a steel liquid filled gauge to replace mine).

Long story short I ended up just getting an entire new fill adapter.

Just added a couple of zip ties to make a loop I can put the fosters QC in when not in use and its all nice and tidy, with plenty of reach so its much easier filling my guns now.

Nice setup. I’m about to buy one of Joe’s rigs. Going to get an SCBA, his line and gauge. I’m waiting for someone to sell theirs on the yellow forum.

Other than having to send a reminder to get information he said he’d get to me I had no problems. That didnt bother me because its something I’ve done too.

Knife, I didnt find anything bad about him on the BOI… you sure you didnt come accross a negative for Joe Bontranger? I sometimes get the two mixed up….

When I dealt with Joe he was straightforward and quick to ship.

A little stuffy on the BOI, he never would put in an entry for me and it doesnt look like he will.

Merchandise is top quality though, I cant complain at all about the bottle, valve or hose he sent me.

Looks Good YN! How is he to deal with. There was a little guff on the yellow abut him, but I don’t pay much attention to those guys. Seems like a lot of them are looking for or to cause trouble a lot of times.

YN,

Thats the exact guage I bought to replace my broken one. Does yours have a little play on the 0-300 psi range? Once its pressurized it works perfect, but I find it doesnt always go back to 0 but if you rotate it around, gravity makes the hand move a little.

I didn’t notice anything odd during filling, will check next time and let you know.

It does return to zero without any manipulation though.

Joe will make you a hose any length you want. The hose is cheap.

Thanx Riff, I just emailed him with my inquiry.

I’ve got a “Brancato” set up also. I just wish he sold one with a shorter hose.

I wasn’t paying attention once and failed to shut off my tank completely. As I disconnected the hose took off and whipped around like a pissed off snake. It scared the crap out of me. Luckily, I keep my tanks on a metal shelf so the hose and foster were hindered by the uprights from hitting me.

If you don’t believe me I’ve got the chocolate dwares to prove it. 🙂

Thats nearly identical to the setup I got from Joe.

Mine fits SCBA.

You dont lose much air when you bleed off either.

I like that ziptie idea, Ill have to use that. How much do you want for royalties? 🙂
