Q:

CCI .22 blazer ammo

What results are you having with this ammo. Bought a box at the local gun shop because they were cheap. Ran about a 100 through my ceska 452 to check feeding and fouling. No problems feeding. No misfires. No loose or bent. Fouling seemed not too bad. Shot at iron target and they seem to hit a bit higher than wolf match extras. NO smoke when reloading like the wolfs. Powder doesn’t stink like the wolf match powder.

Seems to me will be good hunting and Plinking?

BTW don’t tell me you don’t use because they have aluminum cases, they don’t. Several people all ready said they didn’t use because of Aluminum cases. Beer can thin cases of Aluminum wouldn’t hold a bullet and you could crush them with your finger………………… 🙄

I had came somewhat to the same conclusion about mini mag and blazer. The blazer having less QC standards. The blazer not having the copper wash of the mini mag.

My CZ452 varmint being the only rimfire I have gets all the use.

Thanks for the responce. 😀

better get me a box of the cci blaser stuff then soon before its all gone

If you ask me, CCI Mini-Mags are copper washed Blazers with a smidge more powder. They shoot reasonably well and I’d not hesitate to use them for any but the most accuracy demanding shooting. However, when I want bullets to go through the same hole at 50 yards, I use my CZ452 and German made Wolf Match.

For just general plinking and high volume jack hunting I buy bulk Remington Gold, bulk Federal Champion, or Blazers… The stuff is cheap, and there’s always a quick follow-up shot with a Ruger 10/22, Remington Model 66 (yes, it’s an oldie but goodie), Marlin 795, Savage model 62, or Thompson Center Classic… Amongst them they’ve accounted for a couple thousand jacks, and even some edible cottontails…

If I’m really serious, like shoot the eye out of a prairie dog at 150 yards serious, I don’t use a rimfire… I have custom CZ527s in .17 FireBall and .19 Calhoun Badger. 😈

i have shot cci minimags out of my tc r55, better than most, but not super, about same as federal premium, but green tag the rifle becomes a whole nother beast, if not hole in hole its cloverleafs at 50yards

inmy ruger, minimags and green tag shoot great, but for blammo ammo i use remington golden wallmart stuff, rested i can get 2″ or less at 27 yards, cci GT gets under 1″

my gunstore sells the cci blaser stuff for 200 bucks for 5000 rnds

rghangartner: Thanks for the responce. Have you ever used CCI mini mag .22 or CCI Green Tag .22 If so what’s your experince’s?

What’s your GOTO .22 rimfire ammo for general purpose all around shooting. To include target plinking and hunting.

Blammo Ammo new term to me, thanks again* 😀

Well, for one, you’re right, the cases definitely are not aluminum. It’s what’s referred to as “blammo ammo”. It isn’t the most accurate stuff out there, but it goes bang every time and it will cycle most semi-auto .22s. If you run it through a good barrel it is capable of much better than “minute of Jack Rabbit” accuracy. I have a bunch of it in my ammo storage locker and will probably be adding more…
