Just finished my new stock
Introducing “The Jock” (the Joey Player stock)
Its my first attempt at a stock and has taken a little wile
I decided to go with the 1 piece stock because as mentioned my initial design lacked strength. So I came up with a design I liked.
Thanks for any advise given on the actual stock or paint.

Hey here are the pictures.
This is my remington xr-100. Notice how my finger touches the stock along the whole side until it gets about to the trigger.
Now here is a picture of my blaser. Notice on this one there is a fairly large gap between my finger and the stock, and the gap goes all the way to my thumb. The flash is bright on this one so you can see the gap better.
That help at all?
Only thing I would do different is a palm rest on the bottom of the grip, and maybe a thumb shelf on the side.
Also, one thing you may want to look into (although you probably already know) in the grips of high end rifles is your trigger finger almost all the way down the web to the thumb doesn’t touch anything. This makes sure that while your finger is flexing it doesn’t move the gun at all. I don’t know if you did this already, or if it’s just impossible with airforce guns, but it may be something to look at.
If you want me to I can take pictures of examples of having it and not having it with a couple of my rifles and put them on here for you.
I know it may sound like I’m railing your design, but I’m not. I love it. If I didn’t have a custom grip of my own I’d be asking you when you were going to start selling. 😀

I originaly intended on makeing the grip more ergonmomic
but a silly mistake and id taken to much of so had to keep it like is 🙄

Don’t know what mistake you made but it couldn’t have been bad because it’s awesome looking.

If ya want my two cents, it’s a killer design, but you got too much wood left on it… think about how you’re going to “round it off”. I can see you’ve eased the edges, but there’s too many sharp angles and flat sides. It needs some careful sanding to bring out the ergonomics as well as defining the “lines” of the gun. It’ll make the gun lighter as well.
There’s a one-of-a-kind piece of fine art in there, just under the surface… you just gotta coax it out.
I know what you mean Buzzcat, it didn’t look quite as sharp and flat before the paint went on but i gotto strip it down soon anyway and make some adjustments. On the flip side at least I haven’t taken to much of.
As the guy my mom insists on being with says “you can always take more of, but you cant put it back on” 😆

That AR stock is cool but the bottle is a big problem when it comes to adjustable cheek pads.

I think you can easily add an adjustable butt plate but a cheek pad would end up looking too bulky with the tank.

I got pages an pages of tacktical guns, an its about as far from the original design of a talon can be. Youl have to explain what you mean by “tweak” Im all tweaked out.
I really like your concept. This is what the talon/condor is missing, but this is what i would do.
If you can get the stock to look something like this, I would buy it in a heartbeat. Of course it wouldnt look exactly like this… but i think you can pull off something like it. The end of your stock is too triangular, and your missing a adjustable cheek raiser and adjustable buttstock.
The air force range is missing an adjustable butt plate and adjustable cheek piece. all things taken into consideration I did what I thought would work eg the width of the bottle caused issues as i wanted the two to blend.
Il look into what you have suggested but the only issues I have is the bottle restrictions ie. connecting all adjustable components without making it bulbous and out of proportion. I appreciate your suggestions and will definitely draw up some designs, check back an see what ya think.

I like the concept, but it’s missing something. I think it needs to be tweaked. you should check out some tactical rifles and tweak yours a bit.
