BSA owners
Tried looking through the older threads for BSA owners…any of you guys BSA shooters…which ones and how are you liking them?? I recently heard that Gamo purchased and or partnered with them and the manufacturing facility might move everything out of England.

Thats cool…to know that i could dial up the Lonestar to 40 fpe is need be…and still be accurate…awesome….Do you take it up over 3000 psi?? I don’t own a chrony and was wondering what the sweet spot might be…Tof…i contacted you a while back on Youtube….different username though and you helped me make my decision on this rifle…thanks man…i am very happy with it Glad i chose this one over the others i was looking at….nice jackrabbit….even better shot.
KNIFEMAKER…..LOL…..that was the problem….with that little airtube that gun should not be set up for 40+ ft lbs. unless you just don’t care about shot count and only care about power and accuracy. the amazing thing is that this gun can do great groups at any power setting. kudos BSA.
but to answer your question, i was getting roughly 8+ shot at over 40 ft lbs setting which i did not like. i now get over 30 shots at the lower setting.
I had several BSA’s a few years ago and traded my last one in for a new Condor. I really missed them, so had to buy more and replace them, LOL!
Seriously, they are built like a tank, reasonable price, very good quality, flawless operating, super accurate, what more can you ask for:)

u need to get into the the reg and get i worked and the shims and springs need to be changed i know bsa state the s10 can go to 25ftbl but some have taken it further me myself the s10 wll stay at 12ftbl and the rapid will be powerd up.my old condor was for long shooting and snipeing
i have a BSA lonestar and i actually had to detune it for more shots. Came to me from airguns of arizona shooting 21.1 gr kodiaks at 990 fps! BSA and their accuracy is phenomenal. on par accuracy with my rapid. i know have detuned her to shoot 16 gr jsb or predator pellets at 910 fps, and she doesnt miss.
i have shot it out to 120 yrds with excellent results but i only take game with it out to 50-70 yrds.
I have a superten bullbarrel in .22. I like it a lot. If i want to shoot inside sixty yards, CPHP’s and JSB’s in it are very accurate. Love the regulator, very consistent. Wish it had a quickfill and a manometer. I go for the Talon for longer stuff, the BSA sits in the safe a lot. Nothing to tinker with, it just shoots great, time after time.
I tried to fiddle with power output on my BSA-S10 because it was putting out 24 fpe and I was expecting 28-30 fpe.
I switched springs, added shims that Rabbits kindly sent me (for the spring not the reg). Non of that worked so I left it alone so I guess that means that the regulator is very good – I could have opened up the reg and done stuff to that but I wasn’t going to delve into that because I have no experience and it wasn’t worth the risk to me.
I gave up, decided the entire design was too complicated for my liking, nearly had a heart attack when I saw the price of the replacement mags and sold it.
I got REALLY lucky because I sold it right before the price dropped to $800…
Have any of you guys fiddled with the adjustable power???

For general hunting I take the BSA, 10 shot clip at 30ft/lbs for 40 shots.
But for longer sniping I always use the Condor 😈
Gamo bought BSA back in 1986. There are already BSA guns and gunparts being produced outside the UK, howevery the receiver and stock on my gun clearly state “Made in Birmingham, England”.
Gamo have owned BSA for a while now.

Got a Lightning XL…. I like it ok, but it’s quite sensitive….
Meteor MK3 Deluxe Carbine…. Excellent accuracy after I tuned with using a turned down R9 spring guide. Pre- tune was twangy as all hell…
BSA Hornet with custom paint job….. 40 shots in .22 with a 12fps spread. Accurate and quiet. Got it used and it was giving me trouble. Sent to Airguns of Arizona for a rebuild.
Saving up for a BSA R10… already on the list for one when they arrive on our shores.

yes, i think the BSA recommended fill pressure is like 3200 psi or 232 bar or something. I cant remember the number but I just fill it to 3200 psi everytime.
