.25 Cal. barrel in 18" or 24"
I’ve decided to get a .25 cal. barrel for my stock Talon SS. Whether I buy one 18″ long or 24″ long from Tony, I will have the vented front bushing. I plan on adding a shroud at a later time.
The 24″ barrel by itself would be fine, but once I add the shroud it looks like it will be pretty darn long. If I add an 18″ barrel, the shroud would only lengthen the rifle by about 6″.
Anyone have experience with a .25 cal. 18″ barrel on a stock Talon SS? I was wondering what fps I could expect with Beeman Kodiak 31 grain pellets? The 24″ version, according to sawtime, easily tops 800+ fps.
Which length would you buy, 18″ or 24″? Total cost for barrel and shroud would be around $500 so I’d like to make the best choice.
Thanks,
Gunby
