Q:

Logun sweet 16 questions

I know this question has been asked a million times, but I’ll ask it again. 🙂

What are some of the benefits/downfalls of the s-16xs? I’m thinking about trading the condor in for one. It’s a very big maybe at the moment, because I do love my condor, but I’m considering it.

I know the trigger is supposed to be bad, but exactly how bad is it?

Also, how small does it break down to? One reason I’m considering it is going off to college it would be nice to have something I could break down into a small briefcase size package to take out to the woods for squirrels. My car won’t get into the woods, so I’ll have to hitch a ride, and I hate to take up half the space with the big ol’ condor. I’ve seen pictures, but if anyone has measurements that would be really cool. 😀 I also like the multi shot thing, that would be neat to play with vs the airforce single shot design.

Like I said, this is a very maybe kind of deal. Just something I’ve been looking at. In reality, it’s leaning towards the probably not going to give up the condor, but if a super duper deal came up I just may have to give in. 😀

Lama-
stick with the Condor, I have a s-16 and yes it’s built like a tank, however it weighs as much as one as well 😯 😯 😯 😯
Yeah it’s quiet, shoots great, and yes the trigger is needing some help, heavy pull.
Also the gun is pressurized, unlike the much simpler AF set up.
And finally, you wouldn’t believe how many pellets you can go through with a multi-shot.

I had a 12 inched .22 barrel that worked alright with my condor. It did use a bit more air than my 24 and 18 barrels.

One of the best things I got for my condor was the CO2 adapter, 2000 psi reg and 88cu tank. Its like a totally different gun having great consistency, low noise, high shot counts and adjustable power because of the regulator. I also found a way to take my rws muzzle brake from mac1 and insert 2 springs and a washer to quiet it down.
Btw one of the latest fun accessories I bought was a Ncstar green laser. This is soo much more brighter and sharper than the standard ls1 airforce laser. At night time I can see it touching buildings 2-3 maybe 4 kilometers away. Reminds me of a railgun from video games.

in 12″ ? – .22

Would you suggest a 25 cal or 22 cal barrel?

The Condor valve will work fine.. no need to get a new tank and keep the 24″ barrel just incase….

Don’t you hate it when you have a thought and someone comes by and kills it? 😛

Thanks guys, I think that convinced me to keep the condor. Sirjeigo, thanks for your comment on reliability, that really sells it, I don’t like anything that isn’t as close to 100% reliable as possible. And 8lb trigger, yuck.

Yep, keeping the condor. I may take your guys advice with the 12″ barrel. That will do what I am looking for as well as anything.

Now I’m going to have to think if I want to keep the 24″ barrel and tank setup as well as buying a new barrel and tank, or sell the 24″, get a 12″ and re-tune the valve. What do you guys think?

Decisions decisions. 😛

I’d stick to a condor after owning both. The s16 is very accurate and the trigger is stiffer. I don’t like how the bottle system works because it pressurizes the gun by sealing it with an o-ring. These o-rings usually need to be replaced often. I never found any method of bleeding the air when removing the bottle.

The s16 is a great gun but very high maintenance. Its heavier and really well built. The magazines are designed to use certain types of pellets and can sometimes jam up.

The condor can transform into a different gun by swapping barrels, tanks, etc. Single shot bolt actions are reliable and use many types of pellets.

I don’t know anything about the s-16’s but if I were you I’d just get a smaller barrel

It breaks down into 3 parts – shroud comes off the front as well as the bottle so I beleive its smaller than a Talon SS when broken down.

The trigger’s are reportedly 8 lbs.

There is a newer version called the evo thats supposed to be coming out soon – Hopefully that will address the trigger issue.

You could always get an AA TDR – Which is basically a 410 bolt action with a shoter barrel, tube and a break down stock. Only con with that (vs the s-16) is that they are 12 fpe guns without a PAG mod, and even then they are only 18 fpe and not as many shots as an s-16.

OR – and this would be my preference… get a 12″ barrel for your Condor – I’ll make you an insert. Quiet and 40+ fpe for not much money.
