Recommend me a scope.
I am replacing my very old 3-9×42 (forget the brand its rubbed off if that’s old) Gun is mostly used hiking about in forests or in barns. Its also often used in low light of early morning and late evening. Can any one recommend any I should look at?
I was toying with the idea of a illuminated recital but don’t really know the advantage of this? I was looking at the Kahles CSX 2.5-10×50 and 3-12×56 with illuminated D-DOT. Though its not cheap.
I also am looking at the Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16×42 or 2.5-16×50 with Fine Multi-X. I really liked the large range in power setting. But again not cheap.

not thinking it can focus close lilke we need for the airguns…most of the scopes we use for airgunning can focus down to 10 yards…

As long as I dreaming , this would be my choice. $425, not too too bad. It is also a focus and shoot scope. but if your not really going to put some rounds through your gun , I would go with a $200 scope.
Some shooters say you should spend as much on the scope as the rifle to get the most out of your purchase. An $800 weapon with a $75 scope isnt cutting it

If you are serious about not having a budget issue, and you want very high magnification with a really cool reticle and a great quality scope, I would buy the Nikko Sterling 10-50×60!
It has a cool Nato RF reticle
(or the mil-dot reticle)
Granted, the price has considerably gone up since I looked at them last, they run $895 now, but a heeluva scope, if you have the $$ for it, AND need/Want the high mag.

Yes I would definately recommend the parallax..It is the
best thing since sliced bread…It is used to bring the target into focus and has yardages on the wheel so that when the
target becomes clear, you can look at the wheel and
approximate how far the target is….
The only other scope I would get besides that BSA would be the
BSA sts 8-32X 44 Mil-Dot. It is pretty much the same scope but with more magnification….

Look at the Barska line too….Just make sure that what ever
you get is capable of
focusing down to 10yds unless all you are going to do is
shoot long range….

Thanks for the reply. Budget is quite open as I could pay up to $1000 but would rather pay a lot less if I can get just as good a scope. I have never used a scope with Parallax adjust on before is it something you would recommend? I tend to just set the scope and then shoot away until it goes way out again. I am not really one for fiddling.
