Q:

How do you make the S400 Carbine better?

You add a Classic tube.

Did a bit of work on my AAS400 Classic over the weekend. Added a Classic tube on it and at the current power level, 12fpe, I am getting near 100 shots on a fill.

The longer tube really does wonders for balance of the gun and offhand shooting is a dream with it.

I also used EZ-Off oven cleaner to clean up the front barrel band and the scope wheel to give a bit of silver to the gun. I think it turned out classy…

I tend to have trouble understanding you unless you speak Texan or some dialect there of. 😉

I can understand him just fine, and yes he is very helpful ❗

when WoK had the “how much dose it weigh” contest we talked for about an hour and a half or so trying to figure out the the counter balance weight weighed, it seems the new ones do not come with them any more 😆

he is only about an hour away from me, at some point I will go visit him and accidentally forget to bring my wallet…

Forgetting the wallet would be a good idea…. I am thankful I dont live near AofA or Bori… I’d be broke!

I contacted Boris about getting me one of those ‘Limited Edition’ Air Arms laminates… he looked into it for me, and they are not Air Arms edition rifles. Someone is making the stocks for Black Pool apparently.

Boris at Top Gun Airguns is a real nice chap, if not a bit hard to understand when speaking. 😉

Good to know. I have drooled over those stocks since some asshole here posted them… 😆 Nice to see they are aftermarket…haha…

Bori is a bit hard to understand, but yes… he certainly is a helpful and friendly feller…………

If its side lever – it has the 20mm shroud with the threaded end cap.

awesome so the carbone does come with 20mm shroud…freaking awesome….pyra only has the beech…i want walnut this time 🙂

who sells the laminate ? that looks freaking awesome !

looking at pomonas web page it looks like theres no threaded endcap on the shroud on theirs….but looks like 20mm shroud

at pyramidair, its really hard to see but the end of the shroud does look a little fuzzy, suggesting that it has the removable endcap…

straightshooters picture is really hard to make out if it does have endcap or not

In England the 510 is just a 410 (any length) with the side lever. Both the bolt (410) and Side lever (510) are still sold in the UK, hence the new model number.

In the US they just dropped the bolt action and kept the 410 name for the new side lever’s.

Pyramid sell the 410 side lever carbine with the fatter shroud (same as my 410, but shorter) which is a UK 510…

Any 12 fpe bolt actions are either new old stock or an actual imported UK 410, and will have the skinny shroud.

Speaking of the UK models.. How long before Rob gets a special edition laminate ?

i see

hmmm i dont wanna really wanna wait…

anyone selling the 510 yet ? i thought i was just a 12 fpe rifle for the english market

so only the ERB has the 20mm shroud and is threaded….gdamn it….?

i thought all the new 420 had 20mm shrouds

damn it…..

Well, now the new Carbine… 510, I think?? very well might have a 20mm threaded… I dont know. The old style carbine is only a 16mm… but slip on mods are easy to find in 16mm… the problem is the classic tube doesnt allow much barrel at the end.

awesome thanks for the reply….last time i was inquiring bori he wanted quite a bit for mounting the tank….i really just wanted the extra tank…think he misunderstood me

i have been granted the OK for a new 410 cause the wife is tired of me bitching about how i shouldnt have sold the one i had….hehe

with baby and all on the way its gonna be my last toy (or so she thinks LOL)

anyhow….im having hell of a time deciding on a classic or carbine+tank….i dont want an ERB(too long too heavy)…classic would do 32 fpe right ? and carbine would do 28 fpe…4 fpe difference doesnt matter to me….noise ? amount of shots do….but as long as the carbine will be quiet at 11-12 fpe its all good…but will it ? it has to be yard/neighbor friendly !

i dont need a power rifle…the Crapid has that spot….shingle shot is covered by the SS

further more which dealer would be my best bet to go through their inventory to find me the best looking stock ? i want walnut this time !

The Carbine has a 16mm shroud vs a 20mm shroud on the ERB, but at 12fpe levels, it’s very quiet. The Classic tube does not allow for a mod on the end, but at the lower power levels, you really dont need it.

Far as a dealer…. I got my S400ERB and S400CR through Jim at PrecisionAir. He is a great guy to work with and will treat you right. I’m quite sure he’d pick you out a nice stock if you asked him. Tell him he better or Rob wont send any more folks his way! haha…

and yeah, dont pay to mount that tank. Literally…… empty the air. remove the barrel band… unscrew the tank. Unscrew the fill end. Screw the fill end into the new tube. Screw the new tube into the gun. Replace the barrel band. …that easy.

That looks sweet 😯

and 100 shots would be cool for plinking.
