.177 or .22 caliber for 17 joules??
hello Guys!
Couse it’s my first post in here, I would like to say hello to everyone! π
As regards subject I have a question to those of U who has Talon (in Poland Shadow), but in version driveing on only 17joules…
I’m from Poland and we have here some legal limitation as regards power of air rifles, without any registrations U can have only 17J.
to avoid problems and bureaucracy I want to buy just legal version, like this: http://www.gunpower.org.uk/ (it’s a producer web, so hope it’s not forbiden to link it)
and finally the question π
which version .177 or .22 powered by 17J would U recommend to me?
the idea od Shadow is the recreation, but on let’s say 50 up to 100m distance
any suggestions?
thank U in advance!
and sorry if I’ve done something wrong! π
regs!

maybe i am a bit late off the mark but at that lower level .177 all the way.
you will be close to 1000fps with light pellets and 850’s with slightly heavier pellets.
the drop on a .22 over 40 yards is huge and really takes time to get use to. a .177 is almost a flat trajectory.
using software like chair gunner you will easilly see that a .177 at 12fpe has a similer flight path to a .22 with 26fpe or so…
if you will fac you rifle at a later date then go .22
