Q:

The cheapest LDC that can be produced…

Still haven’t quite figured out how to attach it to the gun in a way that it is sturdy yet 😕 BUT here it is…

Step 1: Get the ends off of the toilet paper rolls (and some of the cardboard tubes too, these are pretty thick) @ school, and get a plastic safety “anti burst” cover for flourescent lights (the 8 footers) from a garage sale for $.25 and cut it to desired length of LDC.

Then put the first small baffle inside the tube till it is @ the end of the tube.

Then put in a ‘large’ baffle upside down, all the way down till it is over the first baffle. then push it against the first baffle, and leave some of the tube over hanging a bit so it can be epoxied later

Now do that for 6-8 sets, or however long you want the LDC to be, the more sets, the quieter it is…

The green thing is a piece of foam material, like you get @ Michael’s. It goes on last to go up against the endcap. The cardboard inside it makes it snug against the housing of the gun. Again, I still haven’t figured out how to make something that has this thin of a wall to be able to be screwed onto the frame.

I also don’t have any black Krylon spray paint otherwise it would be black to match the gun.
Here is how it looks on the gun!

Oh, by the way this is my new gun, with the little swivel stud trick for mounting the bi-pod from another TOGger…

Now, if someone could produce this type of baffle system from say, delrin or aluminum then it might be a little stronger for the higher powered guns…

think you can….call the right airgun dealer and they will sell you one and theres a couple of guys on the yellow forum and classifieds thats allways selling mods for outrageous prices….but then again they run a great risk selling those, so i guess they should save up for the hammer falls

Cyg, Why can’t we get those over here?

hehe great job…..while waiting for my carbon LDC in denmark….i had to do something about my condor

i took a poster mailing tube, i had some MDF board left over, which i took a holecutting thingy for my drill, and drilled out a bunch of “coins” they fit perfect in the cardboard tube….

i then made 3 bushing the same way only with larger holes in them so they would fit over the barrel….i wented them

to space everything out i took the left over cardboard tube made cut lenghtwise so it could fold on it self, and be pushed into the tube…4 chambers….to finish off the ends i used gaffa tape, and the caps the tube came with…lots of gaffa running lenghtwise and around….and to fix it to the barrel….you guessed it gaffa tape 🙂 worked like a charm, very quiet 60 fpe rifle, accuracy was excelent

found a picture of the theoben vortex ldc as well
it might inspire someone
