B.S.A Firebird
Good morning everybody.
I picked up my new (second hand) rifle yesterday and first impressions;
I love it!
I’ve never seen a gun like it before and i’m assuming that’s because BSA started and stopped making them in 2001 and didn’t make many.
You screw a buddy bottle into the bottom then when its full a pressure release valve pops up and you un-screw the the bottle.
Pull down the under lever with ease which roles the breach open and cocks the rifle, now load ya pellet and the rest is obvious.
Its an awesome pcp with lots of power/power potential.
To increase the power all you do is tern an alen bolt. piece of cake!

Had this about 3 days now and iv already started on some designs.

Im thinking of building a custom stoke for this.
anyone got any sugestions for the stock ie (ak47 stock would look good 😆 ) any ideas welcome
For me this guns a shooter and a good one at that. just been messing round with it and i’m very happy. my mate bought it new some time ago and spent most of the time mounted on a wall lol, poser 🙄
As mentioned before, if you have FAC or do not need it were you live it couldn’t be more simple to power up.
With regards to parts and such, seems there’s plenty capable engineers round hear that could knock sumut up. Il just have to keep my fingers crossed that she dont brake down on me lol, 😆
Has the rotating breech that Gamo copied (well not copy really seems they are the same company now..) for the CFX.
I have a BSA Meteor from 1966 – great gun.

May be worth more to a collector than as a shooter. As with the Spitfire, you will not be able to find parts for the Firebird. If you are wanting a shooter rather than a safe queen, I think I’d trade it off on something a bit more common, else you’re going to be in the same boat as dozens of Spitfire owners with a gun that no one can seem to fix nor find parts on.
I do love the BSA’s though… the Spitfire is great looking gun, as is the Firebird, the older Meteors, and the old style Lightnings.
never seen or heard of one, is it a springer/co2 combo or something???? I don’t get it
that things cool what ever it is but I think I’d still rather have this firebird through 😆
