I’m hoping to take out my new Mac1 Hunter out today for some
target practice this AM. I haven’t been able to shoot and check how accurate this is in my backyard due to all the things going on in this weekend.
It’s made by Tim at Mac1 air guns. It weighs around 15 lbs. It’s shorter than the USFT model by several inches and just slightly lighter. Tim calls it the Hunter or Carbine version of the USFT. I got both a 22 caliber and a 177 barrel for her. I’ve never replaced the barrel on my TSS but the Hunter only takes me about 2 minutes to do so…pretty incredible. And just this weekend (in the living room) I was able to properly use the knee rest and shoulder butt in Field Target fashion.
Here are the pics of the “space gun” as some people like to call her… and oh ya, Tony has 3 of ’em and when I first saw it here on TAG and got more information from Tony on these unique rifles, I just had to have one 🙂
There’s a ton more pics including close-up shots that I posted on Photobucket so feel free to check them out.

I should have taken pics but I’m very satisfied with it’s accuracy from a sitting position. I was able to destroy a plastic push-pin from 18 yards as well as place several groups of 22 cal JSB’s at around 1/2 inch.
From 41 yards with a 5 mph tail and side wind, my groups were pretty variable at 2.5″ with a nice set of three shots within 3/4″. I’m new to this Field Target shooting position (sitting with no harness) and I haven’t optimally adjusted butt, thigh, scope and knee rest yet. My 4 year old pulled the trigger several times to get her use to the sound, but I think she loves that trigger the most 🙂 I will be getting lots more practice with both my Mac1 as well as my TalonSS.
