Q:

New scope!

I went to the Fort Worth Gun show today!! FUN!!!!!
I found the scope I want! I MUST HAVE IT!! 😈 🙄

It is by sun optics (?? never heard of them)…it is an 8-32×60!!! It has mil-dot reticle and BLUE, yes BLUE illuminated reticle, AND the coolest part…a bubble level INSIDE of it at the bottom as you look through the scope you just glance down and there is your level-ness!!!! I looked through it and it looks nice and clear. The bubble level inside is great! No more issues with cant, and no more external bubble levels!!! It has a side wheel adjustable objective too! 8)
I wish I had the $250 for it 😥 👿 I WILL HAVE ONE!!!

Optics/Nightvision

Was it a Konus scope? They have the blue IR and integrated bubble level system…

Nope, it isn’t either of the ones mentioned here. It is by Sun Optics. Their webpage isn’t functional yet, but I have their brochure/catalog. It doesn’t have the 8-32×60 in it, but I held it in my hands. I used it to look up close in the gun show, but I didn’t look far away with it. They are list price $500, but I can get them for less than that, like $250. I will prolly be getting one for my B-day and I’ll do a write up on it 😀 Along with some pictures and such. The only thing I have to compare it to is my BSA 4-12×44.
I’m still torn between the Sun Optics and the Nikko Stirling though…I can get a Nikko 10-50×60 w/ illuminated reticle for the same price, but it doesn’t have the level….hmmm decisions decisions ;):P:) 😈

Which one would you guys buy???

Glad you spoke up, Jerry. One can’t expect the world from a high-mag $168 scope, but in this case, it’s $168 that can be pointed in a different direction (at least for me).

Thanks!

I have one of the Hammers scopes, the 8-32×56 with the blue IR and the level inside. t is pretty neat to have the level inside and turning on the reticle illumination illuminates the level too. The problem is the glass. The scope seemed nice and clear at first but when I went to do some long range shooting I discovered that it clouds up fast. Shooting into any bright background fogs the picture pretty bad. I replaced that scope with the big Nikko and under the same circumstances I don’t even have to put on a scope tube.

Sounds great…. I looked around online and found nothing by Sun Optics though. If anyone can find this scope online, lets see it… I love the idea of the integrated level.
