I received a large tin of ..25’s from Pablouk. A BIG THANKS PAB!!! 😀
Man, these things are HUGE! 😯 I had no idea they looked this big.
On top of that, he sent a good amount of Jerry’s slugs for me to try out.
When I first opened the tin, I thought there were sections of all thread in the tin. Then I put the old folks visors on check them out, I realized they were Lead slugs. These things are going to hit like a freight train!
I just hope the .25 bbl. gets here before I move in two weeks. ( The State postponed the move due to heavy rains).
It would be good to be able to test the .25 here on the property that I am use to shoo thing on. I know all the ranges, and it will give me a good indication of how th e.25 compares to the hot rodded .22 I’m shooting right now.
I have high hopes for the .25 and it’s ability to buck this crazy Texas wind.

I can’t tell you guys how many times I’ve seen post by “Those in the Know” on forums saying that you can’t stabilize a bullet type slug in an Airgun barrel. I’ve heard this over and over. Once again, we find that the expert arm chair bandits don’t know everything! 😀

No, those experts are rarely expert but they do spout out their “expertise” sometimes based on isolated facts that may or may not combine with other facts to be true in your case!
For instance: it does take a certain rotational speed to stabalize a slug of a given length and aerodynamic property. But, the rotational speed will increase with the forward velocity and the aerodynamic destabalizing forces will vary with slug shape. Thus a powerful airgun with a 1 in 16 twist might be able to stabalize a long blunt slug where a less powerful gun could not stabalize a shorter, lighter spitzer design. The shorter slug or even a longer spitzer might have far greater destabalizing forces to be overcome by rotation than a different design! The fact is, this is a far more complicated field than can be mastered by reading a couple web pages! Way too many people want to jump in and repeat the rules of thumb they just read as “expert” guidance but very few of those same people ever do any actual testing or reporting of results. And often, if actual results get posted and the results vary with the “common knowledge” they get ignored! But that’s another post…!

The 6 ring slugs cut through wind pretty damn good 😀
Good luck with those slugs, be sure to have a heavier than usual backer! I can’t remember if those are 6 or 7 rings but they will blow through stuff pretty good in either case. I do know that they are gen 2 slugs and we have made some minor changes as a result of having to make a new mold for them.
These slugs like a long barrel and you want to run the gun at high power to get them moving and spinning as fast as possible.
Tofazfou sent me some (and posted) pictures of a nice group of splatted slugs that hit steel at 100 yards and a video of taking a paint can out at 100 yards too. I hope the slugs do as well for you!

Can’t see why you wouldn’t really appreciate the 25’s… especially with the wind around there, they do hold they’re course much better with the added size and weight. I used to live in TX myself, but way before having a AG. Must be pretty frustrating constantly having to deal with wind all the time being a airgunner for sure. Those 25’s really put a smack down on whatever you hit. And those slugs… I got a 100 66.6 gr from Jerry I haven’t even tried yet. Now that I have a all metal 22 rim fire spec target box I’ll try them out. Let us know how the 25’s do for you.
