Leapers Scope: About to smash it with a hammer
Ok so i havent posted on this sight in ages but lately i need some kind of help. My 4-16×50 leapers scope is really pissing me off. As soon as i get it zeroed in the next group of shots will be two inches left or three inches down. Really runnning out of patience and any help could save me and this scope from certain demise. Thanks.

Jeepers-Leapers! I guess that is why they call them Leapers. the POI leaps from left to ritht, up and down. And all on their own! 😀

Buy a Mueller APV for $115 shipped from oneclickshooting.com. I cannot say enough good things about this scope for the money. It has better eye relief and sharper and brighter optics than my Mueller Eradicator. I love my Bushnell Elite 6500 but the Muller APV is still the best scope I’ve found for the money. I just wish they had this scope with a mildot reticle. Mueller does make scopes with mildot but they just aren’t as good a scope as the APV. The Tac II is their best optic quality scope but I think the parallax is set at 100 yards. 🙁 I’d be all over that scope if it had parallax adjustment. If you don’t need mildot, get the APV!
I would send that sucker in!
Now, do you have any decent guns shows locally? There are always scope dealers here at the shows, and many used scopes at decent prices. Nothing like a trade to make you feel better! 😀

Airgun specific scope are suppose to handle the double recoil produced by springers. If that is true to the cliam then no doubt a “airgun” specific scope can handle the single recoil of a .22lr
I suggested this test more to cover all your bases should Leapers try to give you a hard time. At least you can say this scope doesn’t hold zero for any type of rimfire or air rifle.
I’ve got a like new Hawke Airmax 4-12×40 AO or another Leapers 6-24×50 brand new in box (warranty replacement). … if you’re interested in buying something else.
On another note, Leapers sucks. The warranty process is even worse.
Thanks for all the input. i do have friends with .22 s will a leaper scope survive that? i know the recoil isnt much but i always assumed this scope was air rifle specific.
Yeah had 2 Leapers scopes, wasn’t super happy with either of them. I didn’t have the severe problems you seem to be having, but when it comes to your scope, it doesn’t take much to make a shooter cranky.
By all accounts the Legend is a great scope for the money, but if you must have a side AO I would take a look at the 4-16X50 Millet TRS-1, the more I use it the more I like it. Do you have or know someone that has a 22 rimfire like a 10/22 to test that it’s in fact the scope.

haha thats what i think its time for. I was looking at some bushnell scopes, you think legend for the price. (cash is a little tight)

Send that bitch in for a replacement or be done with it and get a Legend.
All the scope mount screws properly torqued? (the rings as well as the base).
Assuming the scope is still in working order, the mount is likely your problem.

Thanks for all the feedback and that mueller scope does look like a winner. i think taht if i cant get anywhere with leapers that will be my pick.
