bulls-eye bill’s frame extender
Does anyone have any knowledge about these frame extenders? I have been considering one to lower my report on my condor, and I want to avoid the potential legal problems that may occur with the other moderators out their. Are these similar in design, or are they different enough to not be considered “silencers” by overzealous prosecutors?? And most importantly, do they work??? Thanks.

I have one on my 18 ” .22 cal Talon and it works pretty well. It toned down the report enough that I can now shoot my Talon in the backyard without bothering the neighbors. It’s not totally quiet but it made a big difference in the noise level. It’s a hollow tube that slides all the way down to the first barrel bushing and is kept in place by using the grub screw that held the original end cap on. It also comes with a square-ish machined piece of metal that slides over the barrel and acts as a “centering device” for the tube to insure that it stays centered. Inside the cap it appears as though there is a metal lip angled downward that is designed to redirect the air back into the tube. At the back of the tube, right in front of where the frame starts, Bill drills a small hole which permits the recirculated air to exit. I’ve held my hand under that little hole while firing the rifle and there is indeed a strong blast of air that exits from that hole. I’m very happy with mine. If you want it to be even quieter you can always just add baffles by doing the “spring and washer thing”. Also, it only extends a couple of inches beyond the end of the barrel so it doesn’t really make your rifles much longer. The quality and appearance are very nice and I liked the price. It looks like just a regular part of the rifle.. which is something I liked so as not to bring attention to me and the rifle.

The one you list is although well made, it is just that. a simple tube, It is no where near quiet like the others listed here.
