AA410 chambering question
I’ve had my AA410 side lever with walnut stock for about a year now. Great gun !
Some pellets such as Kodiaks and H&N field target trophies chambers ruff compared to JSB jumbos. My concern is…. is the ruff chambering feeling normal with these pellets ? I’m assuming the lead is a bit harder then JSB causing this ruff feeling as the pellet is sized into the bore ?
I visualize lead being shaved off . Am I wrong and nothing to worry about ?

Ive had my 410 a few months, and my experience is the same.
The result however, is breech o-ring wear using kodiaks.
JSBs and FTS seem to be just fine, but kodiaks definitely tear up the rubber. The manual states to use round nose only for this reason. Not sure why kodiaks are tough on the rings.
Mac1 has the cure. Very high durometer o-rings that last “forever”.
Or you can just order a bag full of cheaper ones from McMaster or whatever. Get the 009’s. I cant remember the inch size. Once you figure out how to change them (pain in the butt til you learn the tricks), youll keep your gun shooting consistent in case of a bad pellet.
I cant remember where I heard it from, but DONT use silicone on those. The silicone will start to get into your barrel, accuracy goes to hell. I know, it happened to me. 😡
I hear ya… I just came in from shooting as well with a 410, and shot some Kodiaks. I feel the same roughness when pushing them in. I think maybe because the pellets are longer than most, they get into where the rifleing begins causing this effect? Only thing I can think of off hand, but I don’t think it’s anything to really worry about. Maybe someone else will chime in…
JSB’s do seem to have much softer lead, thinner skirts, which as you say may also be a factor with them going in easier

Real good info riff, thx. Looks like Kodiaks are out for me then, I don’t wanna tear up nothing with this gun. I’ll Stick with those JSB heavies, which as we know, work awesome in these guns anyways
