Sling on an S410 thumbhole stock
I’m thinking about installing sling studs on my Thumbhole S410. Has anyone done one and how does it look ? post pics

I have sling studs on mine and I use a sling on it. However my stock is not the factory stock. I will try to shoot some photos of it tomorrow to show you.
Yeah that’s the thing, I don’t sling mine, I just used the front stud for the bi-pod. There’s gotta be someone here with a 410 sling that can show you.
Yes, I was concerned about the butt end. The stock is veryu slim back there. How does it look slinged ?

Pretty easy to do, these “Uncle Mike’s” studs should do. With this set you get two studs, one is made for the front of stock, which has a longer machine screw and a nut, the rear one just has a wood screw end.
Remove the action from the stock. Mark your stud position. Drill a hole all the way through just big enough for the machine screw to go in. Then you counterbore the hole from inside of the stock for the nut so it sits flush, or just below the surface, to make sure the air tube doesn’t hit it. I guess you could just drill a hole and use a stud with a wood screw end, but this is a more solid longer lasting connection I think, a nut and bolt type connection.
The rear one, just drill the right size hole where you want it, and screw it in like a regular screw, that’s it.

I put sling studs and a sling on my beech stock, and it looks just like any other rifle slinged. It works great and I have no problems.
I am away from the rifle until late in the week though, father in law has it eliminating starlings. So far he is in the 200’s, woot!!
