A Talon or a Condor?
I already have an air arms S410 xtra and all, So what I want is Raw power.
But I’ve heard you guys say that the Talon is better at everything?
Could you guys please explain?

This one was made for Night-Vision. I just dont happen to have anything to mount on it so I went with the Red-dot. Kicks ass.
Its a chopped Talon with a Condor tank. I shoot this more than my 410 these days.
Dam why did you have to say night vision, one of the only accessorys I don’t have yet. Seen one on optics planet that wasn’t too high.
I bought the SS and glad I did. It was the right choice for me at that time.
My Condor came in on monday. GTBJ made me a shroud for it. His shrouds work, but with all that power their is still the “hammer slap”. Its tolorable now and I can pull off a few shot now and then in my yard without my neighbors going ballistic. Now, am I satisified, some-what, glad I made both purchases. Glad theirs friendly people on here that can help with questions. Theirs a lot to learn here, and it seems to be changing, as new things/parts are being introduced. Remember theirs more than one way to skin a cat and everybody here’s got a knife.

I’ve seen all this before, like denial, but in a different way. Once the addiction sets in you’ll want a talon or some other way to change the Condor. Go ahead we don’t mind

I bought the condor first and a talon ss a month later. I shoot the condor period! I want raw power I do not care about even shot counts and portability. I want balls to the walls performance period! If I want shot count I will get the CO2 and shoot 500 shots in a row at wimpy power!
The only reasons for a talon is shorter and easier to pack or more shots because of the lower power. Trun down your condor and you get more shots too. I have a scuba tank that gives me lots of shots out of my condor. I am a power snob! LOL
Then there is absolutely no reason not to go with the condor then? Maybe the fact that the talon is somewhat cheaper but that would be about it?
I don’t under stand your answer. there is the same amount of space behind the barrel to the bushing (first chamber) and the same amount after the barrel ( the rest of the good stuff) so no mater what frame you have the shrouds end up with the same volume.

Now, imagine a 24″ barrel on the talon.
It will be sticking out much further allowing for a longer shroud?

I say get a condor, put a shroud on, and put a .25 barrel on it. Good to go from there. Or if you want real power find someone to make you a 308 mod or something. 😀

Also the top strap is beefier on the Condor.
why would it limit the length of a shroud? please explain the reasoning behind this.
the SS frame and the condor frame are the same length, the talon frame is only 4.25 inches shorter and a 24 inch barrel is a 24 inch barrel so what that means is you have something like 7 or 7.5 inches of barrel exposed with the condor or SS frame compared to the talon frame 12.25 or 12.75 what ever it is exposed on the talon frame.
also if your going to shroud it the SS or condor frame has more meat to mount one too where the talon frame only has 1.75 inches from the end of the frame to the bushing, and that 4.25 inches of extra hallow aluminum will only add a couple of ounces if that

And I can make moderators myself. 😀 Also, fiddling around with the valve seems fun. Also, doesn’t that setup mean you’ve got a talon with a longer frame? 🙄

ability to shoot targets and small game out to 50-60yds
with lighter pellets, a lot higher shot count, and even quieter….
Just gives you the option of having a gun with a little less
power, air usage, and noise, just by changing tanks…
Like I said, I already have an air arms S410 which is all most silent, and can shoot with lighter pellets. The only reason for me not buying a condor directly is the long frame which would limit the length of a shroud, and would be much heavier, I will machine a new valve too so.. yeah.
