Q:

30 shot string with s410 fac

When I first cronied my new 410, I filled to the suggested 2900psi fill per manual, and found that the first few shots were quite slow, and had to hit almost 20 shots before I would hit peak MV. I called Steve at PAG about this, and he said that’s not right, but sometimes the guns are a little different, try a 2700psi fill and crony it, which I did today. Here’s 30 shots with 18gr JSB heavies. It seems better to me, it starts off much stronger right away, but any input would be cool.

Riff quote: “My best accuracy comes between shots 5 and 20 though.”

Yeah I’m not sure if it’s me or the gun, but that 1st 5 shot group is quite often iffy for me as well, and then I’m confident in the next 25/30 shots or so. Sometimes POI will stay good all the way to the 40th shot, but most times it quits being as accurate a couple of shots before that.

Also, I’ve noticed I’m not as consistantly accurate when shooting at lower power levels, which is kind of disapointing, but that could have been me to I guess, or maybe the JSB heavies just do better going faster, I’ll have to do more testing I figure.

Your string looks similar to what mine shoots, but about 20fps slower across the board.

Your fill pressure, like any PCP, is valve-dependent. Sounds like you found the pressure your valve likes, stick with it.

I always fill mine after 20 shots, but thats just me. I can shoot to the same POI for about 32 shots, give or take depending on nothing in particular 8) .

My best accuracy comes between shots 5 and 20 though.

TDR is 12 fpe, or 18 if you get the pomona mod.

I’d get the Carbine.

That’s really nice, I have a modded 2250 myself, always wanted one of those wire stocks for it, but never got around to it after going “dark” lol.

I think you’ll get more power with the Carbine over the TDR, not positive on that. I went with the FAC extra, which is a bit long, but it’s kinda strange, they don’t look quite as long in person when holding it. But I’m a bench shooter, so it’s fine. My God are they accurate! It was a lot of money for me, but quickly found it was worth every penny… beautiful high quality rifles, you won’t be sorry. Looking forward to seeing what AA you end up with. Can’t imagine you not LOVING it.

Done. 😉 😆

For my next air rifle I’m considering an S410 Carbine or TDR in .22. I want a very manueverable multi-shot. Nice choice on your part.

I think those numbers are terrible. The accuracy must really stink. I tell you what… I’m feeling generous. I’ll give you my custom crosman and I’ll take that S410 and suffer the terrible shooting thing.

I’ll only consider a 2240 with pretty laminate grips on it. 😆
