Q:

What tophat adjustment should I make?

Hi guys!
I got myself a 18″ .22 cal barrel for my TT Condor. In persuite of more shots out of one fill I ordered talon tank for it. It’s due to arrive tomorrow.
I would like to push 21gr. Kodiaks in the 900fps area.
What tophat adjustment and PW setting should I use to get to that number? Or is it even possible with 18″ .22 barrel?
I’ve read some of you pushing those Kodiaks that fast from 12″ barrel, but of course by probably using Condor tank.
Anyway how much would you adjust tophat on the talon tank? (Number, please) The reason I ask is because I do not own a chrony.
Thank you very much

Tonaka, now the fun REALLY begins.

Last night ordered a chrony from PA.
You guys got me into spending more money than I planed to:)
THank you for that!
Can’t wait til it arrives and than I’m gonna play with my toys.
Too bad my wife doesn’t see them as toys but as brutal instruments of “cute” rodent distraction.
Well maybe my kids inherit my view point when they grow up.

Send a PM to J3magnum he can mod a Talon tank to get you around 900fps with an 18 incher.

From my limited experience no one can tell you what your top hat should be set at. I went with suggestions here and then bought a cronograph. My ft per sec actually went down when I adjusted it too far out. Mine seemed to have a sweet spot in the middle. at .101 I got less ft per sec than at .083. Turned down until power dropped off again. around .060 lost about 100 ft per sec. I ended up at .083 or so. It seems every condor is different for the sweet spot.

I was afraid you gonna say that and my fears were true:)
Dang it, I gonna have to buy one then!
Thank you for advice.

Be warned and be caeful NOT to shoot out your Chrony…. AND take my advice and get the Master series so in case you do shoot at your Chrony you won’t destroy the LCD screen.

Get some metal electical box covers cut it to shape and cover the front of the Chrony as well as the front of the rear (2nd) sensor.

AGAIN… get the Master serious… it’s worth the extra money or you’ll end up spending double when getting a new replacement one…. You’ve been advised.

Enjoy the world of tuning you Condor.

Tonaka, try setting your top-hat at .076, you should have a good power range and won’t be using alot of air. That would be a good starting point if you ever decide to get you a chrony.

Thank you

never shot a tank on full power shots but at 600=fps its over 150. Its not hard to top off the tank if you still got 1800 or 1900psi still in it. I use a scuba tank for the hard work, and the pump to get it where I want the charge to end, 2800 to 2900, no higher

Thank you guys!
Electrician, how many full power shots do you get from your TSS with one fill.

This is what I know:
My talon ss/22/12in shoots those, 21.14 gr kodaks, 735fps,pw 9.5 approx., my ss is stock. tophat approx. .087
I ordered a 18 in vented bushing from TT and it should be in this week. I’m told by others for every 6 in., about 90 fps increase. This should push me to 825 for 21 gr.
You have a condor heavier hammer
Ment to help , not confuse
If you can’t get there with the standard tank, you could send it to tt to get souped up a little.
My tophat came from the factory at .111

Tonaka-
I will tell ya straight out, I have a chrony, and all the other shit, but no time to tinker with it. I have never adjusted my TH to date.
Don’t feel bad, however, a chrony is not a bad thing to have, I have a green
chrony, and it is quite nice to know what the projectile is speeding.
Definitely a must have if your gonna tweak. 😈 😈 😈 😈 😈 😈 😈 😈 😈 😈 😈 😈 😈 😈 😈 😈 😈 😈 😈
