How Do You Decide Which Shroud to Buy?
I’ve been reading through the posts on this forum, and trying to figure out what shroud I should look into getting. Since there isn’t much quantifiable data in regards to shroud effectiveness, how do you decide what shroud to buy?
The two bits of information I’ve found useful in evaluating shrouds so far has been, the opinions of those who have one or more shrouds, and pictures that give some idea of the workmanship and looks. The opinions are helpful. However, if owners of shroud X and the owners of shroud Y are equally happy with their shrouds, then they just cancel each other out when comparing them.
I’m guessing this is going to be one of those case where you get as much data as you can, and then go with your gut.
If anyone has a better method of making this decision, or wants to share how they decided on the shroud they have, I’d be happy to have input.

So what is the difference SAVAGESAM? Looking inside my TT shroud it looks like a bunch of chambers separated by special, vented walls.
Also there is a difference in the way the GTBJ shroud and T.T. shroud are made, some might consider the difference insignificant others may not. I’m sure Scott has perfected his to the point that it’s just a cosmetic difference.
I only have one shroud and it is a TT for my new 18″ .22 barrel. The workmanship is superb.
It makes the gun so quiet my son started laughing. After shooting it without the shroud, I put it on and fired a second shot. My son just started laughing as he couldn’t imagine such a reduction in noise.
Only hear good stuff about TT’s work n service.

I am looking for a frame extension type for a .25 cal 24″ barrel what are some options you would recommend? Also what s your opinion of the work done by tallontunes.com?
looking for a shroud type that slides into frame I think.
I’m just too lazy to read all the thread to find out 😳 .
Are you wanting one that screws to the barrel or a frame insert type ?

could someone post a list of as many options as they know of in the form of links
They aren’t caps. You just turn the knob and it clicks as you turn them. Nothing to lock…it has detents and it clicks like target turrets. I like it, if I need to readjust for distance it only takes looking through the scope, and turning the knob till it gets to the spot I want it.

It is installed on the end of the overhang on the “CHEAP” mount…like this one
Plus I just temporarily moved it up to that point to put this monster scope on.
So far this scope is fabulous! More on that later…
Do those covers come off or are they externally adjustable and if so, do they lock?
After you peel the sticker off how about mounting it properly? huh?

The way Scotts slides into the frame and is slightly smaller diameter than the frame Vs. the way Tonys has a “collar” that slides into the frame and the shroud butts up against the frame and is the same diameter. I prefer the look of Tonys better. But that’s just a personal taste thing.
