Q:

Barrel condition inside??

Just got my 18″ barrel and It needs some work outside but looking at the inside the rifleing looks very faint. Obviosly I don’t want to be spending more money to get It machined If It will be no good so how do I decide? I’ve pushed a pellet through and It seems pritty loose, Fairly loose compared to the 12″ barrel i have In now and my 12″ barrel looks much cleaner and smoother between the rifling grooves too…. 😕

Yup, ran the rods through It and It still not much better. Thinking about It I’ve put enough cash In to the gun so far I’d be stupid to skimp on a decent barrel so i’ll get some prices on a quality blank I think.

Did you try cleaning the barrel?

I bought It S/H Lama. It was off a BSA mercury originally and It got turned to fit a stealth (although It’s still slightly too large to fit my breech!). The rifling doesn’t look messed up just quite faint and inbetween the rifling looks abit mucky – Overall the internals just don’t look as good as my 12″ SS barrel or my S400’s which is why I’m having second thoughts about having It machined or just sell It off cheap and see If It’s use to anyone else?

Where did you get it from? Maybe you can have it exchanged? If the rifling is messed up there is not much you can do to it. I’d suggest asking for a refund or exchange.
