Drooper Mounts for Airforce Guns…

It is a funny thing. Sometimes cheap scopes like Leapers will have a lot of vertical adjustment so they often work will with the AF line of guns. A better scope such as the Bushnell Legend can have some problems running out of vertical adjustment on the same gun.

I put my Legend on the Talon and at 15 yds it was shooting 1 mil dot down at 15 yds on 6x and I could not adjust it up anymore. That put the POI at about 50yds as well but with no upward adjustment left. And that kind of sucks and you really do not want your scope adjustment maxed out that is not healthy for the scope.

So I go into MAC1 to pick up one of my LD’s he was putting a new barrel on. I was talking to him saying I forgot to bring my mount to have him droop it for my Talon/legend situation. He told me he had what I wanted in stock and I jumped on it for $40.

What he does is take the mounts and in a mill true up the rings and mill a slight angle in the mount to allow the scope to be a bit lower in the front and this then gives you more upward adjustment. In my case it gave made about a 6″ difference in POI at 15yds just by swapping mounts. Now my scope has plenty of adjustment and is not maxed out anymore.

I have shimmed scopes for years but did not want to risk the tube on the Legend and once again Tim at Mac1 hooked me up and got my gun back on track.

I am really happy how well they work and recommend them to those who come across the same problem.
