Q:

Hawke Sidewinder 8x32x56

I’ve zeroed the new scope and so far I’m mighty impressed with it. RRP is £320 here but the shop price-matched the cheapest online deal I could find and I got it for £260. Yay!

It’s solid, chunky, well built, the image is crisp and bright right out to x32, though eye-relief is real tight at that mag. I developed a bad headache with it yesterday and the vision from my left eye was badly squiffy for a few hours, but after playing with the ocular lens I’ve had no repeat of the issue today. And the parallex is spot on, so quick range-finding is now doable. Confirmed it was accurate with my range-finder. The Nikko gave me no eye problems, so I assumed the ocular was fine on that but the parallex was never accurate. The ocular must have been out in fact.

If anyone is thinking of getting one feel free to fire any questions my way.

50-yard group today:

And a big bunny straight through the heart at 50 yards. 😀

From one side of the 9-circle to the other is 1 and 3/8ths of an inch. The holes all fit inside a 1″ circle. It would have been tighter with a higher mag but I was zeroing at x10 so I had to go with that. I got a 6″ group at 60 yards, might as well have been using a shotgun as x10. 😆

What size was the group?
