Q:

Is it necessary to lube Jerry’s .25 slugs.

Just got some 6 and 7 ring .25 surefire slugs from Jerry. Still eagerly awaiting the Tony-tuned Condor!
thanks, Jim

Thanks for the props guys. I’m glad the slugs are working for you Joe.

Here’s what Pablouk is talking about:

Tofazfou used a Condor running at just about 100 FPE with the 7 rings to take these shots IIRC. The splat at the top has actually cracked the steel and fused itself to the heavy electrical box he was using as his target. The three dents and splats you see were shot at a different aimpoint from the top shot and represent a 3 shot group at 100 yards. Ced is a real good shot but he was shooting prone off a bi-pod that I think could be better but I’d say that was a good group! Ced was one of the original test shooters for these slugs and his feedback allowed us to make some changes to make the slugs better.

I’d love to see a comparison some day between these slugs shot from a full power modified Condor and a standard .22 rimfire. The .22 LR would start out with a couple more FPE but I would not be surprised if by 100 yards the 7 rings hit harder.

The Surefire slugs that Jerry’s boys make are indeed awesome 8)
Put a nice heavy metal backstop at 100 yards and fire a slug into it. If you can recover the slug you will see that it impacts straight on the nose. No tumbling at all 8)
Some people who look at the design would swear that they would not fly true!

THEY DO!!

And the fpe it delivers when it arrives on target….. 😯

I am a newbie to the dark side…
Got some .251 Jerry slugs, and at first I didn’t want to push them in using any force. Later I tried again & they go in snug. Wow! I need a chrony! These things are amazing! Using a custom Tony .25 barrel & shroud, the first shot made me think the pellet stuck in the barrel it was so quiet! It had no problem going through the barrel without lube.. My first test was 2 cases of aluminum beer bottles (12 bottles lined up single file), and the slug went through the boxes & all 12 bottles without any problem then exited into another cardboard taget behind that, then kept going into the woods after bouncing off a log backstop!! Wow!

Kudos to Jerry for the amazing slugs!!!
Kudos to Tony for the amazing 24″ .25 barrel (beautiful) and shroud combination (extremely quiet) all I here is a ting!
The 24″ .25 Tony barrel and slugs are a very awesome but pleasant combination!
I’m a happy camper!! 😆 😀 😀

Thanks for the advise guys, I’m pretty new to this rifle. Only had it a short time and shipped it to Tony for mods.
Jim

On the “goes in hard” point, I use a dime to push the pellet in once I get it past the 1st 2 rings or so- saves the thumbs!

It won’t hurt if you do. Back during development we lubed them by putting a couple drops of 3 in 1 oil in a tin and rolling around about a dozen slugs at a time.

I did not have to lube them. They fit a little snug, but they have no problem coming out.
You are gonna have fun with those.
