Couple more questions RE; PCP rifles
I have narrowed my choices for my first PCP rifle down to 2. Thanks to all the helpful information and posts on this forum!
I am deciding between the BSA Scorpion T10 Bull barrel and the Air Arms s410 ERB. They are so similar it will come down to where I purchase my new gun. I have only found one dealer online that carries the BSA, and that concerns me. The Air Arms is carried by a lot of places so it only stands to reason that it would be easier to get parts/service. That’s not really the question however.
My question is concerning the filling method. I found a dealer that carries Luxfer cylinders complete with fill hose, adapter etc. (I would name the dealer but I don’t know if that is allowed) I just called a few SCUBA shops and one of them requires a dive cert. to fill, and the other one will not fill paintball tanks. I tried to explain to them that it isn’t a paintball tank etc., but they were not having any of it.
When you purchase a new carbon fiber or fiberglass tank, do they have a standard scuba fitting on them? I will post a link to the one I’m looking at if it is allowed.

It is the stock BSA synthetic tactical stock, as shown on their website. I ordered it directly from AOA.

Yes, it is a .22 cal, and it delivers approximately 40 shots before the power drops off considerably. I don’t know how large the air cylinder is, the owner’s manual states that the Scorpion should be charged to 232 bar or about 3,300 psi.

These are very quiet guns, I don’t know what you presently own to compare it to? If you’ve ever shot a Mac-1 LD, side by side it’s about as quiet as the 12 inch moderated version. In other words, very fucking quiet, surprisingly so for a 30ft/lb gun.
Based upon the information that I can gather, the shrouded version is even more quiet than those with the factory moderator.
Take a look at the “air fill databse” posted on the Yellow a while back, and don’t rule out the possibility that local fire stations usually have HPA compressors. All you need is one sympathetic firefighter who likes the fact tha you contribute to the station’s “coffee fund”.
Before you purchase the tank, you might try contacting Steve at Pomona Airguns, or Joe Brancato to further clarify your questions/concerns. Good luck…
Nice gun. Where did you get the synthetic stock? I really want a synthetic stock for my use, I will just ruin a beech or walnut one.

Steve at Pomona is who I was referring to in my first post. He seems to have great deals on tank packages. I’ll call him Tuesday and see what he has to say about it.
Now that I found someone who owns a scorpion, I have a couple questions for you.
Is yours .22? How many shots do you get per fill before the velocity starts to affect the POI? How many CC is the air cylinder, and to what PSI do you fill?
One last question. How quiet is it with that silencer? I am looking at the bull barrel because of the shroud. I need it to be quiet.

I`m hoping the AA410 wins over the BSA. Only because I own a 410 in .22 cal. (walnut stock) and chosing a 410 over the BSA would be like saying `who would win in a fight , Superman or Duke Nukem “ . 😆

You can’t go wrong with either of those two choices of air rifles, although I must admit to being partial to the BSA. 8)

Both places I found can fill to 4500psi as long as the tank is certified for 4500psi.
I have to find some more places to call. Living in Ohio makes it difficult to find any SCUBA shop, let alone one that will work with me.
What is that $90 adapter you have?

Need this kind of set up to fill a carbon fiber tank. The male to male foster allows them to fill it like a paintball tank at the scuba shop.

Thank you. You have made me lean towards the BSA over the AA S410. I just have to call AoA and check on price and availability.
