Q:

.50 Dragon slayer

Finally managed to finish this core for a DS .50cal
It’s give me hell most of the way and this is the third attempt as the others just kept f*****g up

I used a 20mm dia’ slot drill with a 2.5mm radius cutter that i got for a few bob off of ebay. Long series, solid carbide.
Turned out nice.
Hopfully the guy from Chille will will give a recount of if it works or not.
I also put 6 M5 grub screws in to hold it on.
The last one i did for him only had 4, and although it’s never blown off, just thaught belt and braces would be best.

That’s a good looking design. You saved a lot of volume with it.

Looking Good there Sean! 😀

It is very nice work. You guys amaze me with your home builds. One day I will befriend a machinist, or make my father come out of retirement.

Its so tempting to try and hold those tolerances, but every time I try the aluminum starts bending and getting screwed up.

That is some seriously damn fine work right there. Im gonna have to show this one to the machinist at work tomorrow. He tried something like this for me a few months back, and failed twice LOL.

Looks great, as always!

So its quiet… ❓

What is the point of silencing a .50? I would buy the rifle soley on the bang it makes!!! I am sure the “thwak” of the round striking its target it pretty loud as well.

(Yes I understand its an air rifle before anyone suggests that)

Dayum dude, that is 100% gorgeous!!!!!
