Q:

The full story of trip to L.I.F.T. competition.

So my wife and I are driving on the Long Island Express way to the Long Island Field Target competition. After an hour of travel, my wife asks “can we exit so I can go to the bathroom?” Since we left early enough I said sure. I look up the nearest gas station on the TOMTOM GPS, and it says the next exit has one. So we exit there. We get to the gas station, do what we had to do. Get back in the car, and try to start it. Nothing happens! No clicks no whine nothing.

So longer story short. We opted not to have the car towed back to CT. From Long Island($400.00+)
The teller at the gas/service told us that the mechanic was comming in anyway to work on his own car and would look at our car.
We took a taxi the rest of the way.($85.00)
We got to the competition in time for me to sight in.
While at the range we got good news that the car is fine now. and that the alarm system some how cut power to the battery. all he had to do is flick a switch that we did not know about.
I hit 36 out of 48 targets.
got a ride from a new friend Henry back to our car.
My wife and I only had to pay(happily) $50.00 to the Mechanic.
and made it back home.
So all in all not really a bad day.

😯 I would have flipped that switch for free.

me too, and if you just wouldn’t leave me alone about taking some sort of payment, I would of finally caved for a frosty cold tallboy 😉

btw – that switch is called the valet switch I believe and is most likely just under the dash somewhere for next time 😉

Thanks

$50 to a mechanic on a Sunday when he knows your from out of town….. AMAZING !

I know.
Once on the way to Florida we had to go to 2 separate mechanics to get the car drivable.
On the way home we still had to replace 1 quart of oil every 100 miles. because the mechanics fucked us so bad.
We wound up having to bring the car back to the dealer to get it fixed right. (long story short) $$$$$$$
