Q:

Recommendation on new Condor

Hi all,

New member to the forum and would like some advice on a new Condor purchase. I wanted to get a Condor and a new .25 barrel. Can anyone recommend any additional mods that I would need? I am picking up a shroud as well since I will shoot it in the backyard and don’t want my neighbors calling the PoPo.

Thanks!

A good shroud and silent pellet trap and you will be all set! 😀

Just keep them under the speed of sound. 😯

Yes, in Florida it was that way too with all the different laws (county, city, state, etc)

A dude was arrested in 04 for BB gun on his property based on a city law. However, the state law allows it, so he took a “ride”, bailed out, and I think he sued the city. In short, he set a precedent, so now the city or county will not arrest since charges were dropped the first time an arrest occurred. I suppose you could call that dud an air gun Martyr 😀

Hey guys thanks for all of the advice. I do have one more question, I know Mac-1 recommends a Talon tank on the Condor. Why is that?

A Talon or SS will be plenty nuff… Either way youd wanna have a real good pellet trap- bullet trap — id imagine a 21 grain kodiak aint gonna wanna stop rollin at 1000 fps- real easily. —-Oh yeah additional mods to your condor: A talon tank- and talon striker and a 18″ barrel in .177 😆 ……

I wasn’t tryin to talk him out of a .25. By all means get one. Hell I’d love to get one some day. I’m referring to the Kodiak shortage. Lama I hope you were kidding about the cop remark. Around here a cop coming to your door could mean confiscation and you in court trying to get them back.

There’s state law, County law and local ordinances. You practically have to be a lawyer to figure it out or just assume it’s illegal.

Or just do like I did and let the cop that comes to your house let you know whether it’s legal or not. 😛

The smack from the pellet hitting can be loud. Might want to look into building one of the “silent traps” that you can make. Instructions are here somewhere, just search.

Don’t let these guys talk you out of it. The .25 condor is awesome, you won’t regret it.

I had the police called on me by an annoying neighbor whilst shooting my condor .22. The Deputy that showed up was a friend who I tattooed a bunch of times. We fired a few more rounds off as the neighbor watched in disbelief. Luckily, in Florida, the law allows you to fire pellet/bb guns on your own property…as long as a pellet doesn’t exit your property, you are within your rights. Thank God these rifles are so accurate.

Out of courtesy, I now fire from 15 feet within my house, through an open window, to a 30 yard target. This is better anyway as I stay out of the near 100 degree weather, and the house lessens the report of the rifle.

Perhaps you have an “ideal” lane in your house to the outside????

What is the Law in California on firing air rifles???

Bill Welcome. My advice is get the .22, .25 pellets are in tight supply AFAIK. If your flush call Tony. I have a T.T. condor and it’s the bees knees. Although it is long.

How far away are your neighbors?

And how long do you want your Condor? With a shroud sometimes you end up poking your prey in the eye it is so long….lol

Would a condor with a shroud be a PoPo magnet? I saw the youtube vid on the SHS and it didn’t seem to be louder than some of my springers.

What do you guys think?

Condor is a PoPo magnet for back yard shooting.

Buy a bunch of kodiaks and shoot the hell out of it before you decide what to change.

Hope you got a long backyard 😆
If not, go with the Talon.

Other the a scope and a harris bipod you done need much more.

Best of shooting it and making a decision what to get as you get use to it.
