has anyone else ever snapped off a fill adaptor…
while torquing it down into a female quick connect? Now I know I am a superior physical specimen lol but it seems that I was not putting too much pressure on it and it just snapped.
My first reaction was to curse out my English Bruthas across the pond, but then I realized that they probably commissioned Mao’s people to make it for em, so I let it go.lol
Anyway could anyone advise the proper amount of torque pressure? It is brass in brass, well, at least this one was, I don’t know what the next one will be. The first time I put it on, I did not torque it too much and the air managed to escape the threads. I assume the fill probe has to make contact with the bottom of the quick connect, correct? But once contact is made, how much more? 1/4 turn? 1/2 turn? Please advise as I am now going to be depressed by having to wait another week to crony and group this BSA.

thanks again Yellow Ninja for your invaluable assistance. I suppose I should have made these inquiries before I “snapped off” another 30 or 40 bucks out of my wallet. Hey, I wonder if AOA would be kind enough to forgive stupidity and send me one for free 😳
It does NOT have to bottom out, nor do they in any instance I’ve encountered.
Just wrap it with teflon tape and turn it by hand with standard length wrenches (not a vise as I see signs of on yours).
The tape gives it the seal. Just stop when its hard to turn by HAND with the wrenches and it should be fine. Check it, and if it leaks it either needs more tape or to be tightened up a LITTLE bit more.
