Please help me make a decision!
I live on about 3 acres out in the country and have a problem with raccoons, possoms, armadillos and otters. I need to be able to eliminate these pasts at about 60 yards. I am currently shooting a Disco and have had decent luck with it and I really like it, but I want to try an Airforce rifle now. I cannot decide which model to get. I like certain aspects of all of them. I need to keep the cost as low as possible, and even at that, I may need to sell my Disco and RWS Panther to be able to afford it. Quiet is nice, but not absolutely necessary, although my wife would appreciate it. I also do some very close range shooting (3-5 yards). I was thinking that I could add a C02 adapter for this stuff or just keep the Disco for that. Will a Talon or an SS be more effective than the Disco at 60 yards? I feel like, even with a good hit, at this distance a lot of prey runs off. I easily get caught up in numbers and often end up buying more than I need. Would a Talon or an SS be a good only gun, or should I keep the Disco and add a Talon, SS or Condor? I just don’t know where to go with this and I change my mind every day HELP!

If money is an issue and you can be patient, keep an eye on the classifieds here as well as over on the Yellow.
People tend to “baby” their AF guns, so you can find a “just like new” nicely tricked out Condor (or SS with 18″ or 24″ barrel) for a big savings over buying new. Shrouds, tunes, and other aftermarket bits already installed and ready to go.
JMHO.
Get the condor and pm gtbj about a shroud. He makes awesome shrouds and i shoot my condor on full power in a real small back yard. Never even had someone ask what the noise was. The pellets hitting the trap is the loudest thing. 60 yards gets easy with a condor. I blast through 3/4 plywood with heavy pellets. I now use 3 sheets screwed together of 3/4 plywood. now thats power! welcome to the addiction!

It doesn’t seem like the adjustment wheel does much on these guns. From what I understand, you set it where your gun shoots best and leave it. Is that correct? If that’s the case, is adding a C02 tank the best option for increasing shot count for plinking while keeping the high power as an option? I will be using a hand pump for the time being, so I’d like to use it as efficiently as possible, but I will add a SCUBA fill set-up later.
I’ve also read that Mac-1 prefers to set the Condor up with the Talon tank. Would this be a good option for me or should I go ahead and just get it with the Hi Flow tank?
Also, what do I need to do to be able to use my Disco pump (I know they’re not the best, but I already have it) to fill the Disco and the Condor tank interchangeably?

the condors are very loud right out of the box, but then again so are the talons as well as the ss and you did mention that isn’t that big of a deal for now and you can always address that problem down the road a bit.
