Scope Reticle Leveler
I just got this the other day and I am impressed….

Problem is, I see a LOT of scope mount bases that are not level to the action. much less the bedding of the rifle. Way too many actions are drilled off center. In fact, the demo shown is way off! And it’s only an animation!

That looks like a nice handy system. Especially if you have to do your set-up in a shop or tight confines.
I either use a rifle level that clamps onto the scope mount or a small level against a flat to get the rifle level. I then use a carpenters level to draw a horizontal line on a fresh target that is nailed to my backer. Once I’ve got the scope level and snugged down I discover I’ve set the eye relief wrong and start over….
I have a scope with an internal level. It is pretty neat especially as the illumination for the reticle also lights the level. The problem is that the glass is so poor that the scope gets milky almost all the time. Neat idea but it sits in a closet. I hope the idea isn’t patented or that a license is cheap enough for a scope maker with quality glass to incorporate.
Cannot a simple weight on a string suffice for onetime vertical reference?
Our AF guns have nice flats available for using my bubble level to level rifle, scope…then using string to check verticals.
I would like a scope with “built in level”, nothing external. 8)
In the field I would hope that I can shoot well enough without extra gee gaws once things are set up. 😛

Good find.I had been looking at a couple of different ones but I like this one better.

I think I would put that level,on the rod , and mount it on a camera tri pod.
It probably would make it a little easier.

That’s pretty cool.
Use it with a bore laser to make sure the barrel is horizontally aligned w/
the scope.
Plumb bob at a distance was what we used in the old days. Trouble was the
wind would get it swinging.
