New SS Owner Checking In
Hi all.. I have been lurking around here and reading many of the posts. This is a great resource.
This is where it started!
I wanted to upgrade the scope on my Gamo Bigcat… so I bought a Centerpoint 4-16×40. I tried to mount it but OEM rings were too low. I decided to order an Accushot high mount to get the job done.
In a moment of weakness I ended up buying a Talon SS (.22 cal), scuba tank fill adapter, and yes, the Accushot mount… I am not sure how to stop this madness but it is going to be great fun!
Now that my wife left for work I can get it out of hiding…

Any thing after 1 is habitual! 😀
I only shot about ten rounds but I think I am hooked.
What I did notice:
– I will need the Tri-Rail Scope Base to get a comfortable position
– It is still a bit too loud for my area. (2700psi, power setting at 4, with Crossman .22 cal. pointed hunting pellets)
– I need a bipod
– My stinking scuba tank needs a hydro!
Yep…You’re hooked…Just make sure you pay the bills before you order parts…lol
Check around the sight and you will see how you can add baffles to the frame off the SS.
Many use fender washers and tubing and you can experiment with the spacing.
