Crazy world of AF Top Hat adjustments!

Last night I found my top hat loose; I could turn Top Hat back and forth over the stem about an 1/8 turn.

After reading on forum and talking to AF girl I find there simply are no printed “standard” settings. This along with exploded views and an o-ring chart was suggested for the manual, along with take down info for bolt/barrel change out for newbees like myself. This is the part where you guys take over 8)

The AF girl, sorry forgot name, said that valves are initially set for .85 then backed out until there is no back and forth play between top hat and bolt. Is this correct?

Mine came set around .108 with plenty of play from bolt. My gun built on a Monday? 😉 I would probably have to set around .120 to meet the above requirements. I’m guessing there!

A well known tuner has suggested .100 which agrees somewhat with another poster who said found if Top Hat clearance set too close you will get POI changes if Top Hat slaps top of valve. This makes perfect sense.

Then we get settings that reduce wasted air which is cool if you avoid the above and have the time.

Ahh, to have a “standard” between Talon and Condor valves which I read no two are quite alike?
