Q:

My new CZ .22lr

I’ve been wanting a .22lr to take with me to Auburn this fall, just because I know I will be broke, and .22lr ammo is cheap. So I got a little money, took it to the store, and came home with this. 🙂

It is a CZ 452 ultra lux. Haven’t gotten any groups yet, but it shoots well, and it’s got a nice trigger. Barrel is long, almost 29″ long, but it makes the gun quieter and easier to aim.

Stock is pretty. It’s the only gun I own with a wood stock, and I hate it because I’m too scared to take it in the woods, I don’t want to scratch it.

So yay! 😀

Want to shoot even cheaper? Try the Remington or Federal 500-550 round bricks of ammo for $10-$12. They shoot pretty good from a Marlin micro-groove, though a little dirty.

I actually started out with the federal champion, 550 rounds for 14 bucks. That stuff was about as accurate as this stuff. I hate that remington ammo. Stuff has never worked well for me. I’m sure this gun would shoot it ok, but I won’t fund remington’s ammo division. They make some pretty good guns, but they suck royally at ammo production.

I may have to go get some shorts and try them out. I bet it will sound like it has a silencer on it. It’s already extremely quiet with subsonic ammo, that long barrel lets all of the powder burn out before it gets to the end.

It does have a bit of a long barrel. 😆 That ended up being awesome and bad. It’s awesome because it’s quiet, and the iron sights are so far apart that it is much more precise. But it sucks shooting squirrels and such because the iron sights are so far apart it’s hard to get them lined up exactly right. The scope should fix that though. 🙂

Nows yu just startin tu sound like a douchebag chasin his posts.

So what now y’all can dish it but can’t take it. I may be a douche bag but you my friend are a douche bag user.

The eloquence shown in your rebuttal is astounding, kinda reminds of Shooter Mcgavin, “I eat pieces of shit like you for breakfast.” Glad to see you learned to spell. I speak for myself, not Ya’ll.
PM me if you’d like to continue the fun, let’s leave Lama’s post alone.

Fine gun you got there Lama, those CZ’s are supposed to be shooters. Too bad they didn’t have a longer barrell model. 😀 All of my .22s seem to really like Eley match ammo, the good stuff really makes a difference in my Volquartsen. The cheaper non jacketed stuff fouls the barrel really fast. Have you chronied it? Was wondering how fast it shoots with that long ass barrel, even shorts might be fun in that thing.

Why thank you fine sir. Dunno if I’m ready for the PM level 🙂 But I was offering sound advice. He said he was getting a duplex so it shouldn’t be a problem. Just wanted to reinforce the don’t bring it on campus fact. I was just misspelling to poke at him.

Good shooting lama 8)
For sure you need to stretch her out to 100 yards and see what happens…

This is testimony that will be given in the future. 😯

Any weapons on premises should be left with campus security… at least thats how I had to do it.

Wow, you can actually bring guns if you are staying in the dorms? Did not realize.

I am actually getting a duplex, off campus. In other words, I get to keep it with me. 😀

It is a nice little gun. I’ve had about 200 rounds through it now. Bolt still needs to wear in a bit, but other than that it’s awesome.

Syn, it does feel wierd after the blaser. From the stock not fitting exactly perfect to the normal bolt, very different. But I still like it. 😀

dont bring it on campus dey will hit u wit a felony. sound it out bro if you cant reed it.

In my day all we had were wood stocks … except for the Nylon 66 .. we were afraid to take that in the woods and getting laughed at 😆

Finally got around to mounting a scope and playing with accuracy.

The iron sights are awesome, some of my favorite on any rifle I’ve played with. Easy to knock 4/5 shotgun shells over at 50 yards, and at least 4/5 hits on a soda can at 100. But, I wanted to play more accurately, so I put my blaser’s old varix3 3.5-10 on it. I love this scope, extremely clear optics. Only problem it has is it doesn’t have an adjustable parallax, so you have to make sure you keep a constant and consistent cheek weld. I missed a few shots because of that exactly. But when I was doing my part, accuracy was not bad at all. These two groups were at 50 yards with the cheapest ammo out there (federal lightning, 1.40 for 50 rounds) I don’t doubt these groups could almost be cut in half with good match ammo. The circles are 1.5″

This is about 6 shots I think.

This one was 5 shots, point of aim was the highest bullet hole.

Here’s the gun again:

I need a new scope mount for it. It’s got a one piece on there right now, but the gun ejects shells out of the top, so every third shot the shell wouldn’t clear the gun and I’d have to shake it out. But that will be easily fixed with a good two piece mount.

I love this little .22lr. It’s so much cheaper to shoot than everything else, so it gets a lot more attention than the other guns. I shot over 700 rounds through it this weekend alone. Best part, all 700 only cost 20 bucks or so. 🙂

My favorite targets are spent shotgun shells at 50 yards. With the scope I would only miss 1 in every 50 or so. After three days at the range and hundreds of shots, there isn’t a single shotgun shell anywhere on that range that’s not in the big pile behind my target. I couldn’t do a lot of playing today at 100 yards because I didn’t have a more powerful scope with me to sight it in. Soda cans was as good as I could do today at 100. Next time I will try to sight it in out there, and see if it’ll still get shotgun shell groups that far out. 😀

Betyad like one of these on the end

Include all the geeky bits too ( Ammo make, bullet weight, fps etc) :2 😀

Alright, I will. Still needs a little breaking in, but give it a bit longer and I will. I put another 200 rounds in it this morning. 😀 So break in shouldn’t take long.
