Q:

Grrr. My valve seems to be stuck (I want to screw it out)

I can’t seem to screw it out, it will rather spin in those rubber cheek things than open.

Is this normal? I don’t want to over tighten the thing so the tank deforms (Pr can you put it in there pretty stiff?)

Thanks for maybe helping.

He’s sending his tank to me .
What i do with this is :

I put the valve in the jaws of my Lathe and fix the lathe so it can’t turn , then Ill pull of the rubber cheeckpiece with buttplate .

Then i take a big wrench and grab the bottom of the tank and give it a ferm pull.
That’s it ……. then you can take it out without any problems.

This thread helped me out tonight.

I just needed to pull my valve out and it was way to tight to break loose. I made a sleeve to fit over the collar and drilled a 5/16 hole through the sleeve. I then used the back side of a 5/16 drill bit to stick through the hole and into the valve hole. I used a large pipe wrench and could not get it to turn. I then boiled a pot of water and stirred the valve in the water for 3 to 4 minutes. I then tried the wrench again and had to lightly tap on the wrench with a hammer. The valve then broke loose with no damage.

The reason I needed to pull the valve was that I started getting tank dumps. I called airforce first and they said they would fix it. I would have let them, but then I would be without my condor for a few weeks. So I pulled the valve and tightened up the sping by 3/4 a turn. I have had no more tank dumps, YET.

Thanks for the info everyone,
Rodney

The first time you remove it will be a bitch. Here’s a thread on whats involved: http://talonairgun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2655&highlight=

Yeah the air was out of the tank. I’ll let someone else do it. I don’t really want sleepless nights over this one. 🙂

it will take off like a missile. Be carefull.

Ask cygnus about that one. He said they have a little bit of momentum when they take off. 😀

Make sure all of the air is out of the tank first. If it pressurized, you may not be able to turn the valve loose AND if you do manage to take take the valve off the tank while it is still pressurized it will take off like a missile. Be carefull.

Are you trying to remove the valve from the Air Tank?
