CO2 adapter and PellgunOil/Dexron3
When I bought my condor/no HPA clamp rifle only I ordered a co2 adapter from PA. I used Dexron 3 atf on the paintball tank o ring and put a drop onto the tank valve.
I did this because BB Pelletier said atf and pellgun oil are bout the same thing. YOu have to do something to keep the o ring pliable. this rejuvinates the o rings. Seems to make o rings last longer for co2. Divers silicone drys out and will leak. When I put silicone on my paint ball tank it leaked! Flood with atf and the leak stopped everytime?
I got flamed pretty hard on the Yellow forum for saying this. Said to many additives to ATF to be good for the co2 adapter.
Another case in my hand is my RWS 850 .177 B&A long Paint ball adapter.
When the o rings become dry it will dump the whole dam tank and I can’t stop it? Apply ATF to to the co2 tank o ring and valve, dump some into the B&A adapter. Seals tight no leaks. For a while I used ATF for pellet lube in the 850. Actually used ATF to oil the gun???????
Anyway back to the Condor CO2 adapter, I am fortunate to not had any leaks sofar going on 3 years now. I am expecting it to fail anytime now? But I even dump some ATF into co2 adapter from time to time.
ATF may flush the dirt out of the Valve?
BTW Don’t use ATF with HPA! Might be Dangerous? I cleaned my condor throughly before using HPA. 😯
I use divers silicon for HPA. The O ring on my HPA valve was totally destroyed. It is totally gone/not there, Getting valve Rebuilt.

This is also from the Crosman forum.
We have all heard the same stories of Non Detergent motor oil etc. If you put one drop of ND motor oil between your thumb and index finger and SLOWLY pull them apart, you will see how far your fingers separate before the oil drop breaks apart. 20 wt. oil will separate sooner (closer together) than 50 wt.
Now try that with Pell gun oil and note the relative viscosity (distance/weight)before the lubricant column breaks apart. Keep in mind that the distances involved are going to be small and requires a Steady hand. But after awhile you will notice differences.
Now get your hands on some type of ‘STP’ or ‘Motor Honey’ oil additive (for high mileage motors) and try the drop viscosity test (now you know why they call it motor “honey”).
Now get some ATF Dexron III (red) and test.
OK! one is way too thick and the other is too thin in relation to our benchmark Pell Gun Oil ‘viscometer’ (your finger tips).
Now mix approx. 50% STP and ATF (automatic trans fluid) and see how close you can match the Pell gun oil. Keeping in mind that Both products you are mixing are “Non Detergent and (oring) seal friendly”, red in color and have that same distinct feel of ‘stickiness’ O that Pell gun oil has.
Nothing else I have ever felt has that same ‘stickiness’ (Long chain Molecular weight) that ‘STP’ and ‘Pell gun oil’ BOTH have.

After doing research for this thread I have now Switched to that Crosman PellGunOil. Seems DexRon III ATF is way toooooooooooo thin………?
My condor on CO2 shoots a lot harder on a lower pw setting now?
So now what do you think really is N that PellgunOil?

ATF is a highly refined mineral oil and Most ATFs contain some combination of rust preventatives, anti-foam additives, detergents, dispersants, anti-wear additives, anti-oxidation compounds, surfactants, cold-flow improvers, high-temperature thickeners, gasket conditioners, and a petroleum dye.
I would not use in a springer/PCP because it is a mineral oil, would cause dieseling.or worse? I don’t see anything that would hurt a co2 gun.
Daisy recommends 10,20 or 30 weight non detergent motor oil in pump guns. and crosman recommends Pellgunoil use in pump/co2 guns, which is most likely 20 weight non detergent motor oil with a red dye? I do think pellgunoil has an oring conditioner?
ATF is not the right oil to use but I have used it for about 3 years now with no oring failures with CO2 . Condor and RWS 850.
Clean CO2 will dry rot O Rings and Some soft O Rings will absorb CO2 and self destruct?
BTW has caused no problems to the finnish/action/stock/Barrel of my co2 guns!

i probly get some heat for this but i to have used it on my air rifles, i do know atf has many additives for cleaning and to sofen seals. i know of some people that would put it in their car motor to remove sludge deposits, they would put about 2 quarts in and drive a few hundred miles and change the oil again. if you are worried about it burning or detionation just use mercon 5 it has the highest temp ratings, but i do not know what it would do to the gun finishes, that is what i would be most worried about. also in a spring gun atf is a very bad idea. and atf does disolve silicone also so if you need to seal something like that use “the right stuff” it is more of a rubber and is safe for atf. i learned the hard way on an axel seal 🙄
I sprayed some Chemtronics SilkoN 35 silicone lubricant into the B&A adapter and on paintball tank and my RWS 850 stopped firing all togather
Thought I had totally destroyed my 850!
The 850 was suffering Valve lock and reading the Yellow forum I thought that silicone spray would fix every thing. Seems the liquid part of the spray disolves O rings. NOt O ring friendly SILICONE?
Anyway found The 850 Resource. Thank you Roald Needed a stronger hammer spring. Using The 850 Resource instructions to replace the spring found an O ring had dissolved and completely disappeared.
Called Rich from Mich and ask how much to Rebuild the 850(had prevoisly ordered hammer spring kit)? Rich ask me if I had the 850 tore down and I said Yes. Rich said goto local hard ware store and buy U a O ring and put that rifle back togather and fire it.
Used ATF to lube the Reasemble process and no more Valve lock? NOw my 850 only leaks when I get too lazy to Lube the paintball tank o ring and valve?
I keep the can of Spray Silicone around to remind me not to take any thing for Granted. DuH?

ATF has a seal swell agent so may in fact work well on Buna orings.
