Kindly Ol’ Uncle Hoot Needs Advice
I like CO2, and I’ve gotten good results during the summer. However, as I read some of the posts, I realize air does offer some serious benefits.
As I’ve read, I discovered “Regulated” tanks, JDS Airman has them in 48 and 53 cu in, and regulated from 1400 psi to 3000 psi at good prices. He suggested I go with the 48 cu in and 2000 psi output for general medium range hunting. (40 yds or so)
Any comments here? Any experience with regulated air tanks?
Most importantly, would 2000 psi output make a .22 go supersonic?
Anything you’ve got to say about this will be appreciated.
And PLEASE don’t get me wrong….although I do shoot the neighbors chickens, I actually LIKE chickens! (fried, stewed, broiled, bbq’d, etc.) :3

I asked on here Lang about increasing the volume In the adaptor as I thought more volume = more power and everyone else seemed to think the same. So I’d say try a greater volume and see how you get on. TBH though I think you’d struggle with the 2K PSI. It doesn’t seem alot to send 31grn slugs at 950 FPS otherwise.
Would this be down to lack of volume in the reg, as opposed to low psi? My rifle has done a 31-grain at 959fps with 2100psi in the bottle. I kind of figured I’d be good for around 950fps with 2000psi, so long as the reg has enough volume.
Is there any word on that reg by the way Mam?
fusion is right…2,000psi won’t send a 15.9gr SS…I have a
2,200psi Airhog that shoots 18.1gr at 1,030fps and the 2,000psi
was doing around 1,000 with the high flow valve in the AF co2 adapter.
I thought all this time that I had a 68 cu in tank but I just looked at it
and I am using a 48cu in tank with 2 tri-rails and a medium scope ring
to get the right hieght..The 48cu in tank with reg and adapter is about
the same length as the AF tank ..I would advise taking the air valve off of
the adapter and wrapping the spring retainer nut with teflon tape so
that it is tight when you screw it back in…I only screwed mine back
in about 3/4 to 7/8 of the way to prevent putting too much tension on
the air valve spring….Works really well now…I would also
advise unscrewing to regulator to expose the washers and spraying
them out with silicon spray…Let dry until there is no more liquid and
then screw it back together…This provides lubrication to the washers
and in my opinion helps with consitancy….I recently swapped the
air valve out for a Talon valve and although I am impressed with the
shot count I am not impressed with the consistancy of the FPS
per shot…I have some really weak shots that show up through the
150 shot string that I can not figure out yet….It is shooting around 850FPS.
I am currently waiting for the nieghbor to pin up the choice chickens
and I will then have my pick of the rest that are running wild….

2K PSI won’t send a .22 slug supersonic from what others have said on here. Try Mamcrackin. He uses the JDS regs. I bought one off Mat at expert HPA and get very consistant results even If It’s a little low on power. That was th 1K4 PSI reg. The 48cu tank is a good size. Even that Is larger (fatter) than the standard talon one so you’ll need a scope riser rail.

Couple of days ago I fired off a shot at 920fps before checking the bottle, it had 1700psi left in it. It’s absolutely going to be down to volume.
