Q:

What can I do with this tank?

I’ve been wanting to get into HPA airguns and have been going back and forth with whether I should buy a hand pump or invest in a scuba setup.
Well, on my way home from work today, it occured to me …. an old roomate I had left a “tank” in my shed MANY MANY years ago. I didn’t know what type of tank it was or where it came from (I assumed maybe he used it for his job or maybe paintball or something). So I rush home to see exactly what it was and found this ….

Possibly one of the biggest powerlets I’ve ever seen! 😆
Seriously though … It appears to be full of C02 because there’s a cap on the valve and the thing weighs a ton!

I was really hoping for a scuba tank. 😥
And there’s a company name on the tank so I doubt I can even pawn it off on anyone else without the risk of being accused of theft … so I dunno.

I know some of you have used C02 in your HPA airguns, but I’m really not looking to do that.
Anyway … I’m thinking it’s gotta be worth something to somebody.
Any thoughts?

where is the company name you are talking about? i have 2 20lb tanks one for weldin and one for my condor, and the label/sticker i see is just the one that the copany that fills it puts on it. if company owns it, it will be stamped into the neck of the tank. also you might have to get it recertified next time you need it filled anyways. i never have had problems filling mine because so many people own co2. u now have to decide if u need to buy a co2 tank and fill adaptor for your gun or get a keg to go with it?????? 😀 😀

You’re right … the company name that’s on there is the company that actually filled the tank. My bad. 😳

I own C02 guns but not bulk fill.
I’d really prefer to go with HPA for consistant performance all year round.
If anyone here lives in Maryland and is interested in the C02 tank, just shoot me a PM. Thanks.

I bought 2 from local dive shop $159 a piece brand new. By the time you run around trying to upgrade and or recertify how much will you have spent? I bought mine locally so I have a repor with the diveshop as well.
Just my 2 cents

Take it back to that company and tell them you need to upgrade to a higher PSI tank. They might trade you for not much cash.

Good idea. 🙂

Cool … thanks.

I guess I’ll just take it back to the company listed on the label.
Bummer. 😥

Fellas that shoot bulk CO2 would love you to donate at least the CO2 to them.

Or a paintballer……

Cool … thanks.

If it’s only 1800 PSI it’s no use as an air bottle for airguns. The suggestions blue jay made would work though…

Cylinder itself looks like it could be an aluminum scuba. Read the numbers at the top of the tank to find PSI and manufacture date. May be able to find fitting or swap valve.

The tank is stamped “ALM” which I’m guessing means aluminum. ❓
These are the only stampings on the tank.
Can you tell which would indicate psi and manufacture date?
I’d guess either “9/98” or “7/93” for manufacture date?
Maybe 1800 psi?

If it is 1800psi, that would represent C02 not necessarily HPA, right?
Could I get 3000psi of HPA in that tank? And would I be able to find someone to fill it with 3000psi HPA even though it’s clearly stamped 1800psi?

And what about the company’s name being on the label?
Will that prevent people from wanting to fill it?
Should I remove the tag before taking it anywhere?

open it up on your dope plants when they are sleeping and all the fans are off :11

pump your home brew out of the 5 gal soda syrup kegs :18

bulk fill your air guns :4
