Why do you wash the pellets then oil them?

A light sprinkling of holy water and a little chicken foot blood for lucky lubrication… 😆

on the instructional DVD provided by Airforce, they recommend oiling by way of foam in an old pellet tin oiled with thirty/forty drops of any good light oil on the foam, cover the foam with one layer of pellets and “carry them around”.

they say nothing about washing them, though.

Thank you

some pellet brands have a lot of of lead dust and lead shavings on the pellets, so they’re washed
and lubing pellets reduces friction, giving potentially higher speeds and better consistency
not everyone believes in the benefits of lubing pellets though
washing pellets is commonly accepted as beneficial, but not everyone bothers to do it (i don’t, but i mainly use H&N Baracudas and JSB Exacts, pretty clean pellets, had some Crosman Premiers as well, they could do with some washing)
