Q:

quiet condor

I need to quiet my condor.. I have a 12″ barrel and a 24″ barrel. I’d like to keep the 24″ on but would use the 12″ if easier to quiet down. Suggestions needed.

my shroud is almost 8″ longer than the barrel…i have the 18″ talon. my OAL is 41″.

i have nothing but a drilled barrel bushing (no ‘stuffing’ or washers) and all i hear is the sound of the hammer falling and i have PS at 7..

Yea just use the same shroud for the 12 as you use for the 24

there’s no reason to use a 24 incher’s shroud with a 12 inch barrel, your just adding a bunch of length which defeats the purpose of the compact SS set up, you really do not gain that much in noise reduction, and it’s adding to the chances of clipping.

The 24″ can be as quiet as the 12″ with the sacrifice of length. A shrouded 24″ gun gets up to about 45″ OAL. Could go with a shrouded 18″ if power AND OAL are important to you.

Keep your fill pressure low (26-2,800psi), turn down the power wheel
to 0, put in the 12″ barrel, stuff the frame
with washers and spacers wrapped with scotch bright, and then slide on
a shroud…..It won’t get any quieter than that..

Make or buy a shroud.
Get the Blue Jay makes a good shroud for under $200.00
Also Tony from Talon Tunes makes an excellent shroud for under $300.00
I have owned both and they work very well.
You can also talk to Fishing Rod. I have heard good things about his shrouds but no not the cost.
