AWS welder, the stuff you’re referring to, I dunked my wokbut in it a year or so ago and still looks and holds up great. Gives a good “stick” to your shoulder grip. Don’t see anything wrong with doing the grips like you’re wanting to do.

i spray everythig with it , its basicaly a rubber[/quote]

Dam, I guess he really does spray EVERYTHING with it! 😆

i have used truck bed liner on many , an i fine it works realy well , i spray everythig with it , i tried a few others that were cheep brands an they didnt hold up ,its basicaly a rubber

I use Rustoleum brand bed liner. I assure you, it’s composition is not close to rubber… Gaurantee it’s more durable than any rubber. Go for it!

I’ve never used the rubberized coating on a gun. The spray type I have used were not very durable. Easy to scratch, thus peeled easily… if put on thick it got little dingleberries when scratched and looked like turd.

I have used and very much like truck bed liner in a spray can… if you’re looking for gripping texture. There’s no way something coated with that stuff should slip from your hands. Very durable too. I would not go as far as to say it’s like sandpaper, but it will get skin and dirt in the grain when handled a lot.
