I have a couple of them, dont really care for them, if the sun is to your back the dot disappears, forget to turn it off and your batteries are dead..in close quarters shots i have a hard time finding the target..like a pigeon running towards his hiding spot..
IMO…red dots are for use in low light/no light scenerios in defensive/offensive shooting or the same in night hunting for raccoons, etc. and they’re great for fast target accquisition in the same lighting conditions (low light/no light)
i used to have one on my Kel-tec 16a and it worked great out 50 yds.
i now have an ATN digital mounted on a S&W .22 that’s awesome.
for true “precision” shooting such as on a single shot AG, i think there are better alternatives…most red dots that are 2 or less MOA tend to be on the pricey side…JMO
I have one on my 9mm, it works good but I can only see a dove at 32 yrds. Something bigger well they will be toast too. I would really like to try the Barska 2x model.

njnoodles, I have an aimpoint with 2moa on my talon ss and I like it . You can shoot with both eyes open and it works great for moving targets like rats or raccoons. My battery last for 50,000 hours. The only down side is the price about 486.00. I think they are good for hunting at close range. If you want micro precision or long distance shots get a scope. 😀 😀
