Hammer Springs ??
I bought a supply of new hammer springs from Airforce last year and I think my main rifle is ready for a fresh spring.
Does Airforce produce more than one kind of hammer spring for these rifles and if so how do I tell which ones I have ??
Anyone using an aftermarket hammer spring with success ??

I believe the AF stock spring is around 3.5 lbs/in and maybe 10~12 lbs at max tension. AF should be able to tell you exactly though. The following is by no means an accurate way to test but I used an electronic freight/box scale here at the office, and by trying to compress the spring on the scale down an inch of travel got roughly 3.5-lbs, compressing almost all the way I think I got about 12lbs. Like I said by no means accurate but should be in the ball park.
I did the same thing with Selph’s monster spring and got something like, 11lbs/in and 30lbs max.
Lee, the springs I ordered were from Diamond Wire Spring Co. (www.diamondwire.com) they have a minimum $30 order plus shipping, so to make it worth while I ordered 3 springs, one being a 3.5″ instead of 4″ because my hammer on order is supposedly a little longer than a normail hammer. Anywho, I’ve got an extra one that should work for ya if you want to try it.

I just recieved 3 new springs ranging from 5.2 – 7 lbs/in to try with the Selph/Blod valve. The spring he sent with the valve was around 11 lbs/in I believe and just to heavy. I let ya know what I find. After I settle on one, I’m gonna set the other 2 up for sale if you’d be interested. Probably $20 shipped, more or less what I have invested in them.

I know the springs are the same for the Condor, talon and talon SS…you might try putting 2 springs in just for kicks…Wind them together…Can be any stiffer than the US Blodnob spring…
