Custom GP Stealth .22 (AF Talon) from Holland

Hello associate Airforce (Gunpower) lovers!

My name is Daniello, and I’m an enthousiastic airgunner down here in Holland. I’m already reading this forum for a time, and saw some good ideas and beautifull guns.

I time ago I’d like to buy me an Tactical PCP gun as an addon to my collection…and I bought a Logun S16XS…didn’t own it for so long…just a couple of days :lol:. The thing shoots okay, but for me only when I was shooting from the bipod…the thing weights 5.2kg with my Leapers 3-12x44SF scope on it…also the lenght of the buttplate towards the trigger was to long for me to shoot it in FT position (like that shooting position)…so the Logun had to go after a few days…

My “second choice” 😳 was the Airforce Condor / Talon or the Gunpower SSS or Stealth, that because it does not have a magazine…@ the time there was a Steath in the “for sale” section of our Dutch airgunnersforum (www.luchtbuks.net)…the choice was made!

Gunpower Stealth is the same as the Talon, but without a powerwheel.

I don’t have to tell you guys…..it was a good choice 😆 although I sometime ask myselfs why the gun costs that much, looking @ the simple but effective construction…

Because I am a little bitt of a hobbiër, the gun nowdays doesn’t look the same as when I bought it.

After the buy I already had some Ideas in mind and the gun was disassambled. Because everyone ownes a black one, the frame went to a Surface Treatment shop, where it was pearlsandblasted. After that they blank hardannodized it.

I already had a quickfill adapter with manometer made by a very well handyman on our Dutch airgunner forum. Because the overall length of the quickfill icw the original 500cc bottle was to long, I’d bought a “kilroy” bottle…its shorter and a little bigger in diameter, so it still has 500cc of volume. Sandblasted, heatresistance paint & than baked (heatresistance paint, because when baked much more scratchresistance than normal paint)

A friend of mine made an aluminum bushing for the breech, because the breechnob often wears the hole in the Delrin breech out…so the bushing prevents that and also doesn’t add any/much extra weight to it…and it looks slicker 😉 Also he made an breechnob out of stainless steel icw 3 o-rings (seen on the last pictures)

The gun original had an 12″ .22 LW barrel…WAY 2 SHORT 😛 , so I bought a 21″ original Airforce Condor LW barrel, witch was cut down to 18″ and also given 1/2 UNF thread (@ home shooting with a Weihrauch silencer so its really quiet, @ the shootingrange without 🙂 ). Also polished the points were the moving parts are.

The trigger had the “triggertune” with the 3 setscrews. The frictionpoints are polished so it’s lightgoing and crisp. Safety is removed…

The valve was given an Talon spring (because original there was an 12fpe spring in it), because in Holland there’s no fpe restiction to airguns.
Also it became a o-ring in its housing, witch prevents air lost around the valvestem.

Setup of the valve:

– Valvestem diameter: 3,2mm
– Tophat clearance: 2,7mm
– 1,8mm o-ring between strokerestriction
– oval ported inlets in the valvestem
– Springretainerscrew fully turned inn (with Talon sping)

In combination with the original hammer (48 gram), original hammer spring and 60mm preset, this gives around 60 shots with JSB 16 grainers…starting @ 290m/s up to 315 m/s and back down to 285 m/s. Fillpressure 215 bar. Gives about 35 fpe…

The gun today is equiped with a Airforce trirail, AR15 grip with custommade adapter to fitt the frame. Custommade muzzleprotector. Weaver mount underneath the frame so it fits the bipod and 35mW green laser with touchpad. Topped off with a 10-40×56 BOS mildot scope with big sidewheel. The original bottle is also restored, because the “kilroy” bottle is away for measuring a buttplate to it 😉 so in the future I comfortable can shoot the gun with the quickfilladapter AND buttplate 4 good shouldering (I post pictures when ready).

Feature plans are not totally sure but…like to install a .223 or .25 barrel with matching valve. Also like a rough braid carbon shroud topped of with aluminum caps…we shall see what comes out 😉
