Q:

BEGININGS OF A NEW GUN — video

I a building a QB style action (but, of my oun design).
Here is a video of a short air tube with a valve and a quick fill.
This short air tube is just for testing, I’am just getting my “feet wet” on this style of action and will replace the tube with a full size one later.

In the video, I fill the air tube, then tap the valve with a rubber mallet to discharge air.

The gun will be a .357 caliber, bulpup.

Mark,

I can read the .dwgs (have Autocad 09). I would love to take a look at them. One day I would like to make my own from scratch and would love to see any examples I can.

gards,

Bill

Mark,
I am willing to have your Autocad files! Please forward them to my adress, or tell me the way to access them
I really appreciate your info

The tubing is 4130 steel, 1.125 O.D., .083 wall, .957 I.D.
The threads are 1″-20 .

Can you read AutoCad 2000 files?
I got a drawing.

The thread choice is not ideal.
The endplugs are sealed with “O” rings.
The “O” rings drag over the internal 1″-20 threads when you screw the end plug in. Theres potental for “O” ring damage, but it works.

Hey Mark
I always like your work. Could you please tell me what kind of pipe are you using on your reservoirs? Size, mats, etc. Are you using threads on the ends? What size?
Regards

Actualy, that tank was allready full. I was just going through the motions for the camera.
The tank is only 4.5 cubic inches (I believe the AF tank is 32 cubic inches), so it is hard not to fill it fast. It gets warm but not hot.

This tube is just for testing out the valve and quick fill setup.
I’ll cut a longer piece of tubing for the actual gun.
It looks like its gonna work, so i’ll proceed with the rest of the gun.

How much does AF charge for a birst disk?

Mark

Mark I haven’t owned an AF tank in months…I have been experimenting
with Regulators….I have a 40ish Cu In CF tank for the Condor and
everything else I have are guns with tubes….So I am not sure what the
disc cost is…I blew the disc on a regulator….This reg had 2 discs…A
5,000 and a 3,000. The 3k blew when I was filling and the gauge was
only on 2.5K…Still not sure what happened….

Looks interesting.. I, by no means comprehend, how you guys come up
with this stuff..I have never filled my cylinders that fast…Does it get hot?
My stuff seems to warm up quite rapidly even when filling slow…I think I
actually blew a burst disc the other day from filling too fast and I though
I was going slow…
